BJ Saunders v Hammond
Frankie Gavin v Young Mutley
James Degale v George Groves
Nathan Cleverly v TBA

The Khan card had:
Khan v McCloskey
Purdy v Watson
Murray v Carvalho
Munroe v Isaeu

The Warren card has name value but arguably no competitive merit (the poll in your own magazine showed little support for Groves), while Khan card had at least one 50:50 fight. Including the likes of Sam Sexton, Nicky Cook, Paul Smith will add to the name value but will further detract from the competitiveness. Once again Warren is suffering from his reluctance to put his fighters in risky fights, as the only fight on this card approaching even money was Cleverly v Braehmer and it is now scrapped.

The one person who benefits most from all this will be Eddie Hearn, who has been banging the drum about competitive fights recently and this goes to prove him right.

Kariz Kariuki who is ranked 8th by the WBO is scheduled to fight in 10 days. He has a record of 23-9-2, so I would assume not too much danger.

This definitely puts Sky in a tricky position. As someone mentioned, they could be accused of double-standards here after the Khan fiasco — and the Khan faction are bound to be livid if Saturday goes ahead as a PPV, so Sky might want to bring their future relationship with Khan into the equation. That said, even as it stands this is a far stronger show than Khan-McCloskey. PPV level? Not in my opinion, despite DeGale-Groves being a very strong main event. But the big difference between this show and Khan-McCloskey is that we're in fight week now, many viewers will already have ordered the PPV — it hurts more to give money back than it does not to take it in the first place, and Sky are all about the money.

Interestingly, I couldn't order the PPV yesterday - I tried.... I wonder I wonder. Never attempted to order a PPV so early before, so is it too early to order, or was something on the cards before this?

But what reaks the most if this remains - is that Sky were not promoting the undercard of McCloskey vs Khan, so really whether it was Peter Buckley vs Peter McNeeley or Mayweather vs Pacquiao - it shouldn't matter in terms of the non boxing fantatic purse pockets.

Sky felt at one stage, McCloskey vs Khan could sell on its own merit - they changed their mind. This PPV has been packaged very differently and its one of the fights heavily promoted that has been severely damaged.

Yes, indeed. It's all very well talking about saving the PPV for those who were only going to pay £15. But what about those of us who have already spent far too much on tickets, travel, etc.?

The irony of all of this is that FW was recently quite rightly slagging off those boxers who promote themselves and aren't interested in stumping up to provide PPV shows with a strong undercard to offer value for the punters (Khan, Haye).

But this show never had a strong undercard either; which means that if one of the 2 cracking fights gets pulled, the qualiity of the show is damaged immeasurably. And the punters suffer.

Mate he's far from shite - he'd be a very worthy opponent at 3 days notice. He beat Garay and Shumenov in their own back yards and was blatently robbed in the Shumenov rematch.
