Fair enough, I obviously didn't make it clear enough. Dave's a gentleman, I interviewed him for BBN some years ago and got a great story from a candid, genuine and all in all top bloke. It was about a four weeks before BN ran a very similar piece on Dave. I've since bumped into him at a show and found him to be just as sound in person.

The point I was making was that rather than being a clinger-on or whatever the bloke called Dave, he was asked to take the position, he wasn't some sort of bag carrier. Booth/Haye identified him years before Hayemaker promotions and kept him in mind. They stayed in touch, then when the promotional firm was to be launched, Booth contacted him, met and sold their ideas to him to get him on board. Coldwell was a key piece of their envisioned puzzle.

David is a great guy, and very knowledgeable.
I've known him for too many years, back to his fighting days.
There are still a few out there who stick the knife in from time to time, but you know what, I think that's inverted praise. Jealous.

With respect, I doubt very much that there is any jealousy involved.

Do you seriously expect there to be no criticism of him after his performance during the fight & showing off his toe after it?

David set himself up for this & even he himself said he can understand the verbal shellacking he is taking & fair play to him for manning up & taking the criticism on the chin the day after the fight.
