Audley has called out Tyson Fury and Tom Dallas and wants to start fighting at the start of next year. Audley reckons that if he beats someone like Fury then he will get a title shot against one of the Klitschko's. I think his plan is to gain popularity on the show and then say to the Klitschko's that he can guarantee 3 million grannies will buy ppv to see him fight for the title. Aud beats Dallas every day of the week it would be the same old fight, harrison in his shell avoiding the big punches being thrown then he'd suzy Q Dallas and spark him clean out.

Actually, McDermott is ranked no.6; 2 places behind Harrison himself - so John is for all intents and purposes ranked in the British (boxrec) top 5 from Aud's perspective. It isn't rocket science, mate. Although I can see why you'd struggle with the concept.

FWIW, Martin Rogan has less power than each of them, but he kept Audley in his shell, and that was a much younger Audley. He'd lose to each of them at this point in his career. 10 years ago there's a good chance he'd beat them all.

Its not a concept or alternate perspective - being ranked 6th means you're not in the top 5.

Also Rogan doesnt have less power than Sexton.

I'd argue that he does.

Again, take out Audley and McDermott is in the top 5 . And that's a neccessity, unless you wish to see Audley fighting himself in the ring - which you'd probably pay for.

I dont see your point i think you cocked up but just keep digging. If you take away the two klitschkos Haye would be number 1 heavyweight does that make haye in the top 1 heavy weights from the klitschkos perspective?

If you want to argue that rogan has less power than sexton thats fine there probably alot of people that would agree with you. Personally i think rogan has more power but isnt very accurate or skillful but he had a big enough punch to drop skelton.

Im starting to think from a lot of talk from non boxing fans that Audley may become the next peoples champ, he is still a massive name in england for boxing and is pulling in non sports fans from his dancing on tv. Does it really matter that the hardcore fans think he's under achieved? you dont have to win a title to become the peoples champ you just have to be trying and wouldnt it be a story if he managed to get a world title? that wba one looks like it may be up for grabs soon.

Deluding himself on RINGSIDE that he lost to David Haye because of yet another injury & appearing on Strictly Come Dancing is not going to endear him to the masses.

People remember all the his abject performances & no amount of delusion is going to make folk forget them.

FWIW, I think a torn pectoral constitutes a pretty devastating injury for a boxer. For him to be in training camp 5 months later seems pretty rushed, especially at almost 39 years of age.

I understand that his dancing has made him a new legion of fans or given his old fans amnesia.

The last people's champ at heavyweight was Frank Bruno. Bruno was never gifted with the talant of Lewis but had massess following his career.

Like Harrison; he has a personality that some people warm too, it is far better listening to Harrison than Tyson Fury or Derek Chisora, therefore from a PR point of view he is a winner.

Despite very briefly holding the WBC crown, Bruno was never a world class boxer but his power made him exciting to watch and he had some very credible names on his record including Jesse Fergusson anf Coetzie and this allowed him to earn shots.

Harrison exists in a different era where a lower criteria for a world title shot exists but therein lies the problem, pitch him against any fighter with some pedigree and he will disappoint. He froze against Dominic Guinn, he lost to Williams, Rogan beat him and even during Prizefighter it was some powerful individual shots that won him the crown against novices.

The only way that he may become a people's champion is by staying out of the ring as his track record has shown since the start of his pro career that he will disappoint time and time again
