Re: What did Fury say??
Do any one else find it ironic/hypocritical when posters on this thread ..bitch or make a song and dance about a comment that Fury may or may not of made that might be interpreted/deemed as racist but at the same time most of these same posters ether laugh at the use of the words like P!KEY or Gypp0 or even use it them selves to describe someone of fury's ethnicity ?

If his nipper was on the brink at the time he let rip, I'd have forgiven an awful lot worse than 'your mother sucks black cocks'.

Re: What did Fury say??
Well said. Racism and racist attitudes have a historical context, and that context is the slave trade; Africans being treated as less than human and as tradeable commodities, and Europeans having a sense of inherent racial superiority. It is an ugly ideology and a stain on humanity. Apologists please bear this in mind when wheeling out the wiseacre nonsense. You don't have to agree with my opinion, but it is an opinion based on facts, rather than predjudice. :geek2:Bomber 1 wrote:It's simple, the guy is a fat disgrace and what he has said is racist IMO!! Any racism is a no no. The slave trade didn't start and end with Africans and the White European "devil", EVERY colour has been affected and it's still prevalent today.
Re: What did Fury say??
Does it really matter if he wrote that or not?
It was a pathetic little comment on the internet, it is not as if he beat his wife or something.

Re: What did Fury say??
He used the term "black". Most reasonable people would accept that applies to people of African descent. I don't recall an industrial scale slave trade in Europeans that lasted until the 19th century. Or any other "colour". Racism is an idiot's outlook, there is after all only one race on this planet, the human race.yiddo14 wrote:Any racism is a no no. Eastern European trafficked girls as an example of current European slaves in the UK.

Re: What did Fury say??
You can't relate all racism to slavery, though I do understand your point. For instance, in Europe the Slavs (not slaves) were subject to high levels of racism. Religion is a major factor too. Re: What did Fury say??
It does matter because he is a proffessional boxer in the public eye and boxers used to have to adhere to a form of behaviour which would not bring the sport into disrepute. I actually like Tyson and think he is a breath of 'fresh' air, most of the time. But this and his recent behaviour and performances seem to indicate he needs some form of help as he looks to be a accident waiting to happen both in and out of the ring.Horse wrote:Does it really matter if he wrote that or not?

He'll probably just say it's not his twitter account or that someone else runs it for him and he had nothing to do with the comments so doubt anything will be done.
Unfortunately there's alot of false information and defamation of character going on over the internet about certain boxers even on boxrec and i've had to interject to stop it against Amir Mansour.
I don't think people understand that libel laws have now changed and now includes comments made over the internet even by someone with a made up name as on here. Infact we've seen recently how people have actually gone to prison for 'incitement to violence' on Facebook.
No doubt he was reading his Bible when someone hacked into his account.
Re: What did Fury say??
If it's the exact same posters in both instances then fair enough, if not then that's a very hollow argument.mrpedigree wrote:Do any one else find it ironic/hypocritical when posters on this thread ..bitch or make a song and dance about a comment that Fury may or may not of made that might be interpreted/deemed as racist but at the same time most of these same posters ether laugh at the use of the words like P!KEY or Gypp0 or even use it them selves to describe someone of fury's ethnicity ?

To say because some posters on a website didn't condemn the use of those slurs that others can't pull up Fury on his comments would mean next time someone used P!KEY or Gypp0 they could say no travellers can protest because of what Fury said.
If you're going to take exception to the terms P!KEY or Gypp0, which clearly you do, then you have to take the high ground and condemn any racism. Otherwise it's you who is being a hypocrite.
Reading that back sounds like I'm having a dig at you personally, which wasn't the intention. Just that two wrongs don't make a right.

No Horse, it's a comment based on years of posting and seeing you rarely add anything constructive to a debate.Horse wrote:I am a troll because I don't think this is a big deal?
