I thought a draw was about right.

Sturm by four was obviously a piss take but it could have gone either way by one or two points.

What i think is a shame is we have Macklin, Barker and Murray. And not one fight against each other between them!!

No it doesn't, it just shows that even in Germany there is some ok judging. It wasn't an unfair result at all; almost every round was very close.

Like moorsey said "a draw in Germany says you won the fight"

I thought Sturm had that by 2 rounds. Those who had Murray just up, that is also reasonable, as is a draw, in my opinion. It was close.

Draw was about right.

Murray did a great job but not as good as Macklin.

Fair fecks to Murray! I doubted if he could step up the few levels but he looked very comfortable and deserved a draw. I had it to Sturm by one but a draw is fair. I don't want to take anything away from Murray, but it looks like Sturm is on the slide and is there for the taking. Next year will surely be his last, hopefully either Murray or Macklin get a rematch.

Murray did brilliantly but Jim Watt's "I feel sick" was a bit ridiculous. It wasn't a robbery by any stretch.

It's about time Sturm stepped out of his own back yard. I think he's scared to leave Germany after De La Hoya. But then, while he's filling arenas and making piles of cash, and is world champion, I can hardly blame him.

Wasn't a robbery at all and as hard as some people will argue it was a perfectly fair set of scorecards none of the scorecards were miles out were they? Some of the toss we get served up here in terms of scorecards in recent years we have no cause to moan that you need to dominate to get a decision in Germany. There were a lot of close rounds by all accounts and in the end what were the differences in scores? The judge who had it to Murray had him winning by 7-5 and the judge who gave it to Sturm gave it to him by 8-4 so it aint like a judge has scored it to Sturm by a mile.

I had Murray by 2. Sturm rarely landed a clean shot. Well done Murray, proved a lot of people on here wrong. He'd beat macklin for me and iv said that for a while. A lot to be proud of Martin

Sturm is so frustrating to watch. He can hurt his opponents but he just doesn't unload his shots enough. Sturm can bang with the best of them when he unleashes. Murray was clearly hurt at the end there but it was all to late.

Solid performance by Murray though. Macklin vs Murray would be an awesome fight to see.

What a cracking fight. Can't really argue with the score, most rounds were close and you could say Murray had to do more to get the round ahead of the home champion fighter.

Amazing that we have 3 world class fighters at middleweight, 1 of them has to win a belt and bring it home soon.

Close fight and think a draw was fair. Murray just let Sturm dictate in the last 30 seconds of most rounds and I think that made the difference - you have to go and take it and put it beyond doubt.

I had it a draw. I hate to say it but if he hadn't stepped off it at the end and got clipped then I think he would have won it. I would have had the 12th 10-10 and winning by a point.

Exactly, completely agree, by no means a robbery close ish fight. Of the two fights Sturm-Macklin or Sturm-Murray which Brit deserved the win more? To me Macklin everytime.

I was stunned Murray got a draw, he did well but I didn't think he won.

Also Sky saying that Murray is world class is very dubious. They lord fighters far to easily, it was a solid performance, but world class come on. He fought the best fight of his career so far and he may go on to be come a heck of a fighter but Sturm isn't all that anymore. He's ready for the taking, if he takes on someone like Golovkin he'll get knocked out. I'd pick Chavez Jnr against Sturm now, I would be surprised if he doesn't lose his title within the year. To me he's similar to Steve Molitor only with a title, a good name but on the way down.

I had it by 3 to Sturm. What a joke Jim Watt scoring the last level so he could claim he score Murray the winner. It wasn't even close and Sturm didn't need that last burst to win it either. That round and round 8 to Murray were to clearest rounds of the fight.
Shame we get all the "well in Germany" rubbish. Lot fairer result than a foreigner would get over here.

Great effort Marty, hope you get a rematch. Failing that looking forward to seeing you mix it up with the other british middles.

I had Murray up by two, but I think a draw is fine. Most of the rounds could go either way, which means murray could have lost by loads or won by loads, so surely a draw is about right? He didn't really stand out as the clear winner so the old 'it was in Germany' talk is crap. We've seen far worse 'robberies' in Britain in the last few years.

On another note, seeing Calvin Klein shorts and aftershave adverts on the ropes is a big irritation to me.
