Venue has changed to St Mary's Band Club and opponent has changed to Troy Weida. Same bloke Alex Leapai stopped in one round last year.

If you are going I might see you there.

de Mori played with Weida for a few rounds before knocking him down in the third, whereupon the referee did not even bother counting. I spoke to Troy's cornerman after the fight and he agreed that it should be the end for Weida. He could not even hit de Mori.

The main prelim, Kariuki v Bourke was a fight where I wished one or the other would be KOed just to put an end to it. Kariuki won on points.

Jack Brubaker was too good for a game Mark Sorracino and Shane Quinn outpointed a flaccid Kyle Brumby in a fight where it always seemed that Quinn would score a knockout but was frustrated by Brumby's impression of a limpet. There was a fairly entertaining set of amateur fights to start the evening.

Beating people like Weida proves zero as we discussed earlier here.

How much $$$ did you part with for front row seats to that muck?

I agree de Mori needs to step up now. No more road kill opponents.

BTW who was the big tall guy that challenged Mark after the fight?, I would rather see de Mori fight Chauncy Welliver.

$75 for any ringside seat. Over to the left and right were the rich people with the catered tables. Figured it was worth the extra $25 to not take the chance of people jumping up in front of me. Overall it was not a bad night with some willing amateur fights.

You got more money than sense man. $75 to see old Weida get beat up. I heard there was nobody there anyway. You could have helped yourself to a free seat upgrade

There was a pretty good crowd there. Between the pros and amateurs there were 11 fights, the bahram fight did not go ahead because most of the
fights went the distance, so there was enough entertainment.

What do you think it costs to go to a fight anyway? $75 does not buy much, are you on the dole or something?

I think de Mori really needs an opponent step up or he might as well stop now, his latest opponent was the deciding factor on why I didn't make trip to watch the card (that and there looked a better card on fox sports)

I spent a fraction of $75 to see the state of origin and got value for money :TU:

$75 is okay for a good fight. But not to watch a ranked bloke fighting a hack who should be retired and probably is now.

The problem with League is they spend most of the time lying on the floor. It's a really hard game to watch whilst laying in bed, makes me very sleepy.

You would have struggled to sleep through the last couple of origin games.

Wow, Wow, Wow, you can't be dissing Origan my man......3 million viewers for channel 9 last week, that's 1 in 7 australians for you kick in clap fanatic's. AFL and Rugby can only dream of those numbers.
Laying on the ground? when Dally Messinger and co were asked to switched codes way back in 1908, they asked to we get Paid? He was told "Yes" and the best thing is you won't get felt up now as we doing away with the horrible thing called a ruck n Maul, and your not allowed to kick the ball to avoid getting tackled. Dally Messinger signed on that notion and the greatest game of all was invented, "Rugby League" :salut: .

Mark clearly needs a step up fight, i covered the Callaoway fight, and have to say, Mark carried him to the 4th IMO.
The man can fight, he just needs to get on with it, these fights with Weida( I seen Alex knock him senseless in 1) are not helpful to his cause.

He has to fight either, Alex,Solo,Bowie or Chancey.

I spent $50 bucks to watch the fights, De Mori may have been the main event with a poor opponent(With in reason) but to give some one shit for going to watch it and support local fighters - How about talking shit to the family of these kids and telling them how money unworthy the fight cards are. You should have more respect.

In Mark's speech after the fight he said that he had been supposed to fight in America but his opponent came up with an injury. Solo has done nothing lately, Tupou is now an American citizen and is not coming back, Leapai would be a good fight as would Chauncey if he is prepared to cross the Tasman. I stopped watching Orifice when Queensland was allowed to draft New South Wales Juniors like Inglis. That made the "Origin" idea a joke.

By the way, the "maul" is a recent concept in Rugby Union, they did not have it in 1908.

What about young Snorky Sterling  Being born in Toowoomba. Or we can always go with the current winger who's from Fiji( He scores a try and let's 3 in every game, thanks NSW).

Origan is alive and well in all of us die hards, it must suck to lose 6 in a row, but that passion that's needed by NSW atm, in order to win is so QLD at that moment it's compelling & glued to the seat shit.

Being born there means nothing. His parents probably took advantage of Queensland's free hospital system, He played all of his junior football in New South Wales.
Inglis was a NSW junior representative. It was straight out cheating and, like everything bad that has happened in League in the last 20 years that Ribot scumbag's fingerprints were all over it.

The emphasis of my criticism was aimed squarely at the main event. That is after all what draws most people to fight shows.

I standby my criticism $75, or $50 for that matter, is excessive for a very poorly matched main event where, as Brute said, Weida could not even hit his opponent :TU:

New Zealanders play NRL, they cannot play for either State. The Cayless brothers were born and bred in Wentworthville but played for New Zealand because their parents were Kiwis.
