Like many fighters, his injury seemed to have an impact once it was clear he was out-gunned and increased steadily in severity with each passing month since the fight itself. Give it a year or two and he'll be stating that he went in there nursing a gun shot wound to the ribs.

It was the clouts to the head that did for him in the end as he took an awful lot of them as it wore on and they were extremely solid blows.

Plus Murray was told ten weeks before the fight 'Get yourself in the gym because we're going to throw this one on Buckland with a few weeks to go and give you a huge advantage'. Both guys fought to the same notice with a new name in the frame, one guy hammered the other into submission from where I was seated and perhaps Murray had a few niggles around the time but he didn't feel the need to bring them up.

I'm not slating Buckland, just giving my take from the night as it looked to me a fair win over a guy who performed well early only to be ground down fair and square.
No mate, I'm not on about the rib. That was probably OK. I mean (if you believe him) then he wasn't himself physically from the off because of having to drop a load of weight.

You'll know better than me...wasn't Murray in full training for someone else? Buckland wasn't (he says).

King Geedorah wrote: Fair enough, I do get your point. I just find it odd that Murray's slated for losing at a higher level and winning at a similar, arguably highter level, only to be completely written off for years, he never received the praise that others routinely get. I also thin he's shown better engine :TU:

I think Kell should fight Matthew Hatton and it may be closer to being made than we think.

oooohhh that's interesting, not heard that one.

good fight, for lots of reasons. Would really get some interest going.
