By the way, regarding Patron's comment about Matthew Newton, it seems old Bert was handy with his fists in his younger days. Ernie Sigley was once on TV talking about when he was singing rock 'n'roll in halls around Melbourne in the 1950s. Ernie said that while he was singing on stage Bert would be punching out the "bodgies" at the back of the hall and throwing them out.
If Ernie's singing in the 50s was as bad as it was in the 1970s he probably needed protection.
A 3rd title in the same div from the same org is just a joke.
Can't image old Bert dishing it out. Even young Bert

Bert grew up in Fitzroy in the 40s and early 50s. It was a pretty tough area then.

Back on topic. Is Mundine ever going to fight again? Can barely remember his last fight and hearing nothing about his next.

Who knows? He's too old and knocked about to play football.

Hoppa is still playing park rugby league at the tender age of 38, but this standard is way beneath Mundine, who believes that the State of Origin is still his level.

The highly anticipated Danny Green-Anthony Mundine rematch is very much in the works - but for early next year, with negotiations currently stalled over fighting weight. Currently tipping the scales at around 90 kilograms, Green is pushing for the fight to be at 80kg, which is 4kg heavier than when Mundine beat him in 2006 when he weighed in at 76.2kg. Mundine has claimed he would come up 10kg to fight Green but he would need to come up 11kg to meet Green's demands.
This little tid-bit above was mentioned in the Sydney Morning Herald of the 10th May 2012. So in the interim, will either step back into the ring before the antics of 2013 builds up. If they ever meet again, it may be zimmer-frames at 10 paces!

Now the SMH of the 14th May has put out this latest fantasy from Mundine:
Mundine, who turns 37 next week, said he was seeking a three-fight deal that would lead him to the big names, including Miguel Cotto, Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather.

He bullshitted about goin to the US and it wasnt about money but Legacy, On his twitter account he tweeted its all about $. So you dont know what to believe.
I think he'll fight undercard of chavez jr for a IBO or WBA belt and then he'll try land a pay day fight, He wont go for Cotto Mayweather or Pac cos they would tear him a new arsehole, Id like to see him fight K9 bundrage, both old fighters. Even Margarito would be worth seeing, but i think he'll opt for a fight with Mosely

At 37 Choc might be best looking at the Green Rematch at 80kg, if its rumoured for 2013 he should spend now till then getting his body in condition adding the correct weight on etc With perhaps a fight to stay active at Super-Middle for example on the way up?
Fights with Cotto, Flotd, Pac etc are out of the question in the USA IMO Choc may have left his run to late over there.

Mundine felt the hurt against Kessler and knew he was going nowhere in that division,
I hope he gets a fight with Margarito which would be a good test and if he could beat him convincingly have a crack for a genuine title for a change against K9 or the like.
Hope he gets a fight on the undercard to chavez jnr for a silver title in the US against Vanes Martirsyan, thed suit both like ducking fights.
As for Green he should KO Cameron in OZ for a warm up to Rematch with Flores
If not id like to see Green and Pitt go at it

as another poster said, i can,t see this fight getting him any recognition in the u.s. mundine said mayweather is the only fighter on his level, i didn,t think floyd looked that bad,i only hope somebody is putting all of his quotes into a book,it will be good reading, as for green v flores,i think danny should look elsewhere, flores wasn,t here to win their first fight, although it was a better show than the briggs fiasco, Brute, it is hard to believe bert punching anything than a few holes, all the best

He can be a really tidy little boxer too, his fight with Green was class, he looked like he had it all. But when he fought Wood, admittedly years later, he gets ko'd by the novice. Of course he beat him in the rematch but I have to say I wasn't convinced before the fight that he would pull it off. Coming down in weight at his age too can't have helped I'm sure, along with age and his recent form he's just not what he was. I'd love for him to pull out a cracker but it's based on hope and that's not a good thing.

Bundrage holds the IBF Light Middleweight title and defends it against Cory Spinks in June. Anthony won't be fighting him any time soon.

Flores still has a top ten rating and Green is still the only fighter to beat him. I don't see why he would have not wanted to win a title fight.

I agree. He probably meant Flores appeared not put his foot to the floor and have a big go at it. I'm sure he would have come to win though.
