Since this Haye v Chisora thing happened, ESB has become a very difficult read.

I strangely missed that considering I post there regularly. Seems like different stories are coming out from the people banned than what the mods said.

Boxing discussions are better here though.

Never have done but having read this thread i decided to check it out , needless to say ill be staying loyal to boxrec ,
What i found perculiar was that over there they are referring to Shane Mcphilbin as Sugar Shane Mcphilbin , wheres that come from ? hes no Mosely of course and never heard him called that , BBG is his little thing (Bulwell Big Guns).

Anyway Eastside doesnt appeal to me .

Santa Maria!

Someone has just started a thread on there something like 'David Haye v Joe Frazier, who wins?' and posted:

"Hayemaker KO over Joe I think. Frazier's weak chin combined with lack of size would be his major undoing here. Hayemaker is able to get inside of Frazier, outworks him, roughs him up, hurts him, and stops him. Frazier didn't cope well with elite level powerful super HW's like Hayemaker. Even against the B level Joe Bugner Frazier struggled to cope with his extra size and strength."

Credit to most on there though...it's too mental even for them.

A troll. Note that most of the responses are telling the OP to fornicate off.

Did it not occur to you that it might be a joke?

From what I've seen Boxrec posters take themselves a lot more seriously than on ESB.

Aye, I did say "Credit to most on there though...it's too mental even for them."

You're a good poster from over there - I just think the Haye v Chisora story has been really revealing over there.

:TU:

The reaction from Boxrec and ESB seems to be quite the opposite. I thought it was pretty funny that there was a thread over here started called "Wazza crying on Five Live" and one on ESB called "Frank Knocks Out Barry Hearn" on the exact same story.

Exactly that. They're massively pro the fight over there (I noted gasman's poll a few days ago) whereas it's definitely more mixed over here.

A lot will depend on your taste pal , will mainly be rowdy clubs and such by the time the fights over i think , but if you walk up hockley (out of nottingham arena , first right then 2nd left ) then youll find plenty of late bars , theres one on a corner facing a tesco mini supermarket thats quite nice and has a lot of attractive ladies in there , at the top of hockley as you head towards market square , tram line runs straight in front of it (basically where hockley joins the lace market) , unfortunately cant remember its name .

Horses for Courses and all that. ESB might be a good forum but there is way too much trolling, for my liking. Occaasionally 'strange' posters turn up here and begin trolling and the rest of it, then disappear when they either get mass abuse or totally ignored. May just be conincidence, to be fair.

There are humourous posters on this Board but I guess each of us has a different take on what's 'humourous'. Half the shit I read on ESB, which in most cases went on for pages and pages and was apparently funny to those guys, I thought was utter shite and not funny at all. Then again, I find Buzz, Matt S and King Geo's posts usually quite amusing. So wtf do I know? :DD

To be fair mate its not that hes taking piss out of shane that annoyed me there , that was just a reaction , was more a case of how i was magically meant to know that esb have some stupid name for him that i was meant to know was a joke rather than just some stupidity , considering i had never looked on the forum before and that was the first thing i actually saw .

I know where to go if i want to act like a little fraggle then rather than trying to have serious boxing discussions .

Ill stick to boxrec thanks . :TU:

There are certainly different demographics o each forum and I have often posted the same thread on both forums and have had massively different responses on both.

What is the general opinion on this forum about the BBBC in terms of their stance on the Chisora Haye fight?

Will add though that it is rather disrespectful to joke about like that about a guy who does what we love to earn a living in a place where they can see it but hey thats just my opinion . ive said less about people and received a lot of hassle from it in the past .

My opinion is the board are as good as anyone in the world as far as safety etc but they just seem a bit outdated on some issues and maybe a kick up the arse might freshen things up even if it meant a second board to offer a bit of competition , although many didnt agree with me on that

Whether you find it funny or not is up to you, but I wouldnt take it too seriously, even if you know Shane personally, because lot of stuff worse than that is said on the internet about boxers. You sound a bit sensitive, I would call that more light-hearted than anything else. Mind you im not a fan of going out of a poster going out of his way to ridicule fighters or their courage. I think the fans have every right to criticise a fighters actual fighting ability, so far as they are not going overboard with it. Ptherwise whats the fun in being a boxing fan?
