has this fight been confirmed?

Not as yet. I'm a bit gutted. I thought it might be the Upton Park thing.

Turns out all the fuss is about a fight between a bloke who's last two were absolute rubbish, and a bloke who's lost his last two, and was thoroughly outboxed by Tyson Fury.

Haye will be running around the ring taking pot shots at chisora all night. I doubt he'll knock him out, and I reckon it'll make Upton Park stink.

I thought the Haye-Chisora fight was mooted to sell tickets for Mitchell-Burns. I payed for those tickets under the impression we'd get both, as soon as I saw the press conference for Haye-Chisora. If the Michell-Burns fight isn't on the same bill, I'm going to be p*ssed off.

The non hardcore boxing fans I'm going with won't give a sh*t though. They don't even know who Mitchell and Burns are.

I'm not a 'nuthugger'. It's just my opinion that Mitchell hits just as hard as Katsidis, and is a better boxer than Burns. Got nothing to do with 'nuthugging'. Mitchell's loss to Katsidis was down to Mitchell, not Katsidis.

If his promoter didn't believe that a focused, fit Mitchell would beat Katsidis, he wouldn't have made the fight. And he certainly wouldn't have made the fight with Burns had Katsidis not been further shopworn from severe beatings off JMM and Guerrero.

Burns has improved dramatically, which makes it a good fight. Full respect to him and his trainer for this, but fancying Mitchell to knock Burns out doesn't make me a 'nuthugger'.

Hattons camp believed Hatton could beat mayweather i didnt make it true. Kevin was completely out of his league thats the long and short of it if he fought katsidis again he would still lose.

Not what I heard, to be honest it was common knowledge in Mitchell's camp that Burn's was brought in at the beginning of Mitchell's training so to get sharp as there is no denying that Burns is a good sharp boxer....But just different levels

Mitchell also he won the British Title stopping a man who defeated Burns very wide on points. You and others go on about the Katsides result to compare them so why not the Carl Johannson result?

I agree with a lot of your points, but you should also be honest and transparent that you're affiliated in some way to Mitchell. Not being explicit about that here is a bit disingenuous.

No it wasn't, anyway as a trainer/coach you should know you can't go by sparring at who would win the 'contest'. Sparring is not a real fight Billy....

I think even you would have to agree that (a) Burns didn't box the same Katsides, and (b) The Mitchell which boxed Johannson, Prescott & Murray wasn't the same Mitchell who boxed Katsides. Point I'm trying to make to you Billy is that you can't go by past form on similar/same opponents or sparring to make a guaranteed prediction. It's good to be passionate but your showing your sleeve and emotions way too much. You mention 'no excuses' in earlier posts. I wonder if you'll come out with any should this fight not go to plan for you? all this back and forward slagging seems a bit pointless. on paper, its a fact that that burns has achieved a lot more than mitchell...and anyone who denies it just sounds stupid. mitchell may turn out to be better than burns, and beating him would probably prove it, but usually at the highest level of boxing focus dedication and mental strength are more important than just " talent" . so far whatever gifts kev mitchell has, havent seemed to be backed up by the hard work and disipline shown by the likes of burns. i dont bet on boxing anymore but if i was forced to put my hard earned up, it would be an easy choice to make.

If this fight goes ahead it could be a cracker. I expect Kevin to be dangerous and at 100% mentally and physically for this as anything less and he will make Rickys nights work very easy. It's also a fight that could propel Mitchell back in to the spot light and bigger pay days so this along with it being against a fellow brit should give him all the motivation he needs. For what its worth I think Burns is possibly the most improved fighter I've seen in recent times. It's good to see Burns has been fulfilling his potential of late that was eveident when he fought Earl. I expect Burns to use his ability, skills and ring generalmanship to force a late stoppage win or wide points victory.

that makes 2 of you and one of you had to make up they went to a non existent sparring session where mitchell won.

I 100% saw them spar, and from what I saw Mitchell didn't show anything near what his capable of and it was still 50/50, ask billy joe saunders, he was there !

I think Katsidis was past his best when he fought Mitchell and Burns.

It's a good match up. Some here wildly over rate Mitchell, but that's been happening since he turned over. Still a good little fighter.
