What ever happened in the Calzaghe case? Did allegedly ever pay up. I know the judge found in favour of calzaghe but then sports network went into liquidation and calzaghe was going to pursue him personaly and that was the last I heard of it.

With both Bellew and Degale going the legal route. Who wants to leave next?

The Walsh brothers? Selkirk? Fielding? Take your pick.

It must be very frustrating for a boxer to train and spar regularlywith no real end result in sight. I can imagine that it would be easy to get disheartened; Cox is a good boxer with power and proven pedigree; if he can't get on in the sport; who can?

I don't know mate - Mr W_rren made Bellew do it the hard way.
First he had to beat the dangerous Atoli Moore, then he faced the big punching stylist bob Ajisafe.
Follow that with a couple of wins (helped by some favourable refereeing) against the world ranked Ovil Mckenzie then surely nobody could begrudge him a World title shot ?
Then after being beaten fair and square, he should have been given an immediate rematch - indeed, he should have been given as many rematches it required until he actually won.
Some promoters can be so unreasonable.
You forgot the TNT puncher called Jindrich Velecky :-)

Bomber when Degale left Bunny as your pals call him, you defended Bunny quite strongly why was that?
If you wanted Bunny to give you strong tests, you didnt give him a lot of confidence in some of those weaker tests, a couple of examples are
Getting knocked down in the fight against Andrejevs in Oct 08
Getting knocked down in the Bob Ajisafe fight in Sept 10
Getting knocked down in the Ovill Mckenzie fight in Dec 10
Then of course shouting the odds in a press conference for the Cleverley fight which was made at short notice and being nowhere near the weight so the fight had to be cancelled again couldnt have installed a lot of confidence in Bunny could it?
I am not just having a go at you as in fairness to you your performance against Ovill McKenzie in your rematch was bloody good, as was the performance against Nathan Cleverly a fight which I thought you thoroughly exposed Cleverly's credentials as a world class fighter, in a rematch I think you would beat him. Your last performance against McIntosh proves you have what it takes to perform at European level.

Yeah I forgot about him
Although he is knocking 40 he had a decent win/loss ratio when you fought him (although since your fight he has had 11 fights and only won 2

).
Joking apart, from an outsiders point of view (with no knowledge of the financial situation - and I am not asking !) on the face of it in 4 years as a pro you have had 18 fights, picked up the British and Comonwealth titles and had a World title shot : surely no promoter could have done better than that ?

I take the point about the British and Commonwealth titles, but 'World Title'??
C'mon, its the WBO who are in W@rren's pocket, with his 'paper champion'. Hell, if the likes of Karpency fought for it and Krasniqi was going to fight for it, Bomber MORE than warranted a shot. In effect, it's an extension of the EBU title, for me.

Maybe so, but if there were promises broken and the relationship breaks down, that's more than enough to forget what happened in the past (however fruitful).

The problem is that some information is in the public domain and some isn't (and we are all making assumptions without knowing the full story).
If the problem is a "broken promise" then my interpretation would be that this involves a rematch with Cleverley (although I may be wrong).
If that is the case, then I would be surprised if FW promised this as they are both his fighters.

I think we are heading to a degale like stalemate here, Warren won't back down and that will make Bellew more determined.

From what I remember Bellew saying before, it was a case of being promised a rematch 'if there was anything close'. I guess (from a legal perspective at least) that how close a fight is might be subjective. If its purely on scoring, then judges had Clev winning by 5 points, 3 points, and a draw. If that averages 3 points, it might be argued that Bellew lost 75% of the fight - therefore not close. I would imagine that might form some of the promoters defence? From Tonys perspective, anyone who actually watched the fight would say it was a lot closer than that.
All supposition and presumption of course, but the nosey neighbour in me is looking forward to the details.

I think the "verbal contract" route is a very hard path to tread.
If the argument is about this "promise" surely it should have formed part of the contract for the first fight ?
Bellew says it was said, Wazza says no it wasn't.
Prove it, either way.

If you are correct in what you say then surely the onus is on Bomber to prove his point rather than the promoter and as such as stated before people have declared their cards far too early especially on a boxing forum like this.

I've never ever said anything about Chunky leaving! Why would you say that? Pure lies! I also only class the McKenzie fight as gen knockdowns to be honest, look closely at the others one was on my chest and Ajisafe one was purely balance.. Fair play to Ovill I thought he had a shotgun when I boxed him the first time though
