It's just Warren throwing mud and trying to paint Giles as the bad guy. It is not a conflict of interest for him to be chairman of the BBBofC and EBU, much in the same way as it is not a conflict of interest for people in the FA to have positions on UEFA or FIFA.
If he was being paid to work for a promoter, that would be a conflict of interest, but he's not.
Luxembourg are now having second thoughts after EBU decision, as I said before game set and match BBB of C

I still cant understand exactly what the objection is to David Haye fighting Dereck Chisora in a boxing match.

It seems like the BBBoC and some people on here have lost sight of what "boxing" is.

I think all this FIFA similarity is a reasonable point.

Imagine if a player spat in another players face, then slapped him in the tunnel - before another player then got involved with a bottle in one hand and a tripod in the other - before the original player started telling everyone he was gonna shoot him. Then played in his own country (despite being banned) because the Faroe Islands said so !

That's the essence of the point which people are overlooking.

With regards warren suing the BBBoC - that's a laugh.

He did numerous video and print interviews calling the brawl a 'total disgrace' and that he would 'never promote a fight between them'.

A court would see what the truth is in the blink of an eye: Ignoring the BBBoC's suspension to line his pockets from staging the fight.

The crux is this, if your suspended you take your lumps - you don't get some paper organization without a single fighter on its books to license it, to sidestep the board.

Chisora's behavior was inexcusable and participation in this event cements that.

I have no issue with the BBBofC banning chisora (if they had) i have no issue to them trying to stop the LBF backing the fight in the UK, my problem is the BBBofC and the EBU changing their own rules to suit.

However they have obviously taken note because both boards have changed their approach from the actual actions they previously advised they would take. Someone has also posted a quote from the EBU's bylaws which stated no other EBU member or licensing board is allowed to give a license to another boards licensee without approval of said board.

If thats the case it then the LBF were braking the rules which makes it an entirely different ball game.

However this is BBBofC's cock up in the first place there should never have been any doubt over chisoras punishment and status as a boxer and now 40k people are going to feel the brunt of that cock up if the fight doesnt go ahead.

It would be in the interests of the BBBofC to license the fight pending further enquiries. People like comparing the EBU to FIFA, well the FA seem to think its ok for players to play for their countries whilst pending investigations, why not have it in boxing.

28k tickets have been sold. About 3k have gone to ticket agencies I reckon. They have to refund them, then wait and do it legally with Board approval.

True but how many people will have made plans and paid for related things, not to mention workers and businesses within the local area of the fight who have probably also started to make provisions for the event.

Also by the time the fight is re-arranged vitali could have retired which makes the fight pointless for haye, so probably wont happen. Maybe they could just arrange haye v povetkin.

Perhaps the board thought the boxer and his team would take their slap on wrist in good faith. Perhaps the board didn't think they would require airtight terms and conditions for what is straight-forward punishment against one of its members.

Interested parties can bleat all they want about 'Giles not coming into the meeting' and all that bollocks when the reality is, Chisora behaved like a twat and brought this sh*t storm on himself with his autistic-approach to sportsmen around him.

No Leforge, i cant see it going as an unlicensed fight because it will loose all credibility if it did have any to begin with. However if did, there will only be one fight on the bill.

PS- I couldn't care if the fight happens either way, just trying to cut through the 'fog' of who to blame.

If Derek didn't act like he did, nobody would have got suspended. Then again theyre perhaps wouldn't even be a fight. So from that point of view it's both a smart move or a stupid one, whichever way you examine it.

If you note, it was you being smarmy about people making comments regarding the legality of issues on the thread which prompted my response. Also i dont need to further explain anything you posted an article yourself on another thread stating the BBBofC and EBU changed their stance on the issue due to the legality of their threats.

If you were smart you would have posted the EBU's rules regarding licensing a previously licensed fighter or official as somebody else did. Instead you tired to make clever remarks without actually posting anything clever. :TU:
