I'm surprised at just how many people here seem surprised at the scoring.

It happens in every single amateur boxing tournament, all over the world. Why was it going to be any different in London?

Didn't see the Ogogo fight as close at all. Close going into round 2 maybe.

What should be remembered its not the boxers fault, its the officials that need looking at, or the actual system of scoring the fights.
So i'm still behind team GB boxers

Haggler2002, I'm sorry that wasn't aimed at you, I thought I was posting under another quote, I'm just sick and tired of so many people jumping on ogogo and joshua's back, they were both CLOSE fights, the decision swung our way, there was no robbery involved, when a British guy gets through who shouldn't I will speak my mind !
I think people are forgetting this is amateur boxing, an 8 count counts for nothing more then a single point !

In the next Olympics alot of changes are happening, its going to involve pro's from the Aiba league, and no computer scoring instead we will have the 10 point must system. Which of course never leads to any controversial decisions

I haven't seen the fight yet, but are we to assume that any close contest that ends with a Brits hand raised is deemed to be controversial?

I'll have to watch a repeat. I didn't think it was at all close today but I'm open to watching it again and re-evaluating. How could Ogogo lose the second by only one point though? Doesn't match what I saw but ill watch again later and see if my view was worse than I'd thought it was.

What i don't get is why the judges have to score for each boxer, wouldn't it make sense to have 6 judges and 3 of them score for one boxer and the other 3 score for the opponent.

wouldn't that give a more accurate way of counting?

The amateur scoring is unfair to heavy hitters and body punch specialists; causing a boxer to falter or wobble or fall should count for more than a jab to the mark.

It may be a factor that the judges are sat below the boxers, below the ring. I really think that the television viewers get the best view of the action, even better than the referee most of the time!

Taylor just got beat by the Italian, don't really know what Woodhall was on about thought Valentino was brilliant !

Another complete robbery. The Romanian middleweight clearly won that fight. The Uzbek had nothing left in the third and yet they gave him the round.

This is getting unbearable now.

The Uzbek actually won the last round according to the judges!! I just can't see how that was possible

It's become the norm to only chat when there is a dubious decision. He boxed pretty well against a vastly experienced opponent.

That was a serious knockdown but the scoring in that round was bizarre though. 6-4 Joshua, I felt it was much wider in that round.

She wasn`t at her best and it was scrappy but the judging for that fight was shocking.How on earth they scored the 3rd round for the other girl i`ll never know.She definatly won the fight as far as i`m concerned,terrible decision.

Joshua boxed well. But that Dychko (who seems the spit of Vitai style wise) dude looked damn good in his fight. First time I had seen him. This will be an epic 9 minutes(if it goes that long)

It'll be a good semi, but I must say the standout heavy for me has been Medzhidov.
