No it doesn't. It shows how desperate people are to try and big themselves up by trying to show how compassionate, on the pulse, and connected they are in one fell swoop with a hugely devalued three letter statement.

Ive never quite understood collective grieving.

I was at Old Trafford the game after George Best died, and like the sick perverted animal i am, decided that as i had paid 30 odd quid to watch the game, i might try and enjoy myself. Not by conducting a nude orgy or anything, but by watching the game and cheering goals etc.

The amount of people who tried to physically assault me for not taking part in the pantomime of staring at the floor, shaking my head and looking "sad" was remarkable.

Grief is a powerful emotion, but totally thoughtless, misplaced pretend grief is even stronger!

No pretend grief here, I'm very sad that Manny is gone. He seemed a gentleman of the sport, he developed some thrilling fighters who made the sport greater, and as a commentator his cool, unbiased analysis was a welcome relief from the HBO shills.

Very good analyser of fights and so often on the money with his views of fights and fighters. Very bad loss indeed for boxing.

Watching the big fights on HBO is going to make me genuinely upset. He's the 'only' pundit that talks absolute sense and is so insightful
