Damn right he didn't, Lewis was more out of shape than his defeat to Rahman which was blamed on him being out of shape.

Petard.

Bowe lost his way after the loss to Holyfield, which was razor thin and made even more bizarre by Fan Man's entrance (or exit) and the long wait.

You could argue he was the architect of his own doom, installing a fridge in his bedroom and clearly taking a lax attitude to training once he'd won the title(s).

Once he'd lost he didn't really have anywhere to go and had to resort to taking on lower rung contenders and fighting for a much less prestigious belt (certainly at that time).

Dumping the WBC belt in the trash can was clearly a move he felt he could take at the time, maybe feeling the fight would be worth more down the line. He was quick enough to fish it out of the bin after the cameras stopped flashing though.

What's a 'pitard'?

I still stand by what I wrote. What I offered in this thread came from the media I collected at the time and still have. If you don't want to believe it or dismiss what's written in print by men who were there as my own personal conjecture then so be it. What do I care? Let's argue over what colour the grass is.

Like the others said, I'm sure it would all be very amusing if we were in a pub. It's not meant to be taken too seriously, even when I vehemently disagree with you.

I remember reading a piece on Spinks as a kid, whilst waiting to get my hair cut. The sort of thing you'd see in Now magazine or Heat - Two page spread, photo of him looking sad (ish) and a big catalogue of disaster and woe and basically, he'd spent his money partying (like we didn't know, Leon) and had been badly advised.

Still no answer to my question?
