too soon, Steve Lillis spoke alot of sense before the bout tonight about the rematch being the wrong move, and Maloney even admitted post fight he didn't want the rematch. Price obviously let his heart rule his head to restore his pride, but Maloney should have been stronger in his stance that he has to work the levels.

It was a daft idea. Price should have had a tune up, then fought Del Boy, then Sprott and then maybe Shane Cameron or Alex Leapia in a Commonwealth defence. Then a rematch with Thompson.

What are you basing that on? How many top class heavyweights has Thompson knocked out himself? He never hurt Wlad even in the times he caught him in the two times they fought and Wlad isnt exactly known for his iron chin.

haha one of the most awkward/bizarre interview moments of all time. Made me laugh, I was like, he can't seriously be saying this stuff on TV, then it just kept flowing and flowing. Mental!

You think thompson lacks power because he didn't KO Wladimir Klitchko?

It's pretty obvious to me he hits harder than Fury. He obviously bangs hard, he's been around the top 5 in ranking for a long time and has 9 KO wins in a row now with most of his fights being illiminators. Fury has fought 2 ranked opponents in Chisora & Johnson and wouldn't have needed a baseball bat to stop either. The rest of his record is made of jokes & club fighters like Vinny Maddalone.

No, im saying the fact that he caught Wlad a fair few times and Wlad never looked remotely troubled says a lot. Who has Thompson knocked out who was classed as anything special aside from Price? Be honest.

It's not all over for Price, you could still make a case for a serious conditioning coach putting him right however implausible that may be in reality. 2 KO defeats to Thompson would have surely signalled the end but the manner of tonight's result allows for a different spin.

As much as I wanted Price to win I was willing Thompson to make it through the second round as there were still questions about Price that required answering.

All in all I think it was a satisfactory night. Despite the loss Price didn't look as glass jawed as everyone suspected, and Tony Thompson was allowed to give one of the best post fight interviews in recent memory courtesy of CH437's hilariously raw programming style.

Me too mate. I think Fury needs to be on his best behaviour to win the fight. If he stands square with his hands by his side, he's going down. If he boxes smart, sticks to the game plan and doesn't get involved in the mind games, he'll win.

My gut feeling is he'll taunt Haye and get caught.

Haye and Booth are far too smart to lose a fight to Tyson Fury. They'll spot his weakness, set traps and get him on the chin. Game over.

Ok, he didn't go over from one punch, but his resistance was poor. He looked like he had done twelve hard rounds after three, and lets be honest, they were not the greatest punches he got caught with. Basically, we can add stamina to his list of problems.

I'll be amazed if Fury can react quick enough to avoid getting knocked out by Haye within 3 rounds.

It could well be curtains for Price ultimately. But it could have been considerably worse.

Price aint goood enough its clear know now lets move on haye and Fury are the british heayweight to watch.

No chin, no stamina, no need to discuss Price further. He is now irrelevant.

Tyson Fury will get whacked by David Haye soon, lose in a similar ignominious manner, probably involving a funky chicken dance then crying afterwards, and we can all move back to smaller athletic heavyweights.
