Ooooooo a mystical "leave and never come back" challenge. I though these were just myth and folk lore. :-)

I still fancy Clev for this. Kovalev is aggressive and can certainly bang but Nathan is a clever lad (no pun) who has the skills, speed and engine to win this. He could make Kovalev look clumsy and lumbering if he utilizes what he's got. I just hope he doesn't switch into Macho mode and got toe to toe. I'm not as confident as taffy or RB on my selection but I expect Nathan to win with the farmers, miners, and daffodil eaters behind him.

I am indeed from the UK. That doesn't mean I have to support Cleverly just because he is British.

Another reason I am rooting for Kovalev: the allegedly machine. I simply don't like the way this man goes about promoting boxing. In my opinion it is a very cynical way indeed. I think Eddie Hearn's approach is better for the fans and in the main I will support his fighters. Not going into details because I can't be bothered, but the upshot is that I don't believe Cleverly is this big ticket fighter that Frank wants him to be. I don't know just how popular he is in Wales, I don't really care, all I know is I believe he is limited and it's only right that he gets beaten by a true world-class fighter to expose the chicanery of him being represented as a 'world champion' when he, in my opinion, is nothing of the sort.

Is that a good enough explanation? Why do I feel like I have to defend myself at all? Who knows. What I will say is that if Nathan wins in a fair manner (that doesn't include EL TEL anxiously stepping in prematurely after some pitty pat flurries from Nate) then I will gladly come in here and give him credit, while you drones will no doubt be hurling vitriolic, self-satisfied abuse at me.

Umm, why is it taking the moral high ground to be gracious in defeat? I was making a point that if Cleverly wins in a legit manner I would give him the respect he would deserve, IE he will have proved himself. I'd like to think Cleverly's fans would do the same post-fight should Kovalev win.

There is plenty of evidence to suggest they would do that. Read some of the comments from the Welsh people. It's not assuming.

Why have I not been gracious in my prediction? I put forward an argument for why I think Kovalev will win early. What else did I do that wasn't gracious?
