As a Hatton fn im becoming concernd that we might never see Ricky fight against the very cream of the division..I cant see what allegedly is so scared of...If Hatton lost to Mitchell,Gatti,Tsyzu...any of the big boys it wouldnt be the end of the world..i`d still watch him and maybe Hatton would learn a bit from a defeat...you can see how much he`s improved since he got floored...a defeat is a defeat..it happens to every fighter. It hasnt hurt De la Hoya`s pulling ability
Promoters are the fornicating scum of the boxing world...
Warren makes me so fornicating angry....
Witter has done nothing but slap some fourth rate africans about...In fact if Witter had of fought Pederson instead of Hatton he would have been the best fighter on his record(Zab Excluded).
I also agree with J...i wont argue with the Yanks about Hatton. because of lots of reasons..but the main one bieng that they think the be all and end all of boxing should start and finish in the land of the...ehem....free.
Also with Galota slapping about Byrd for 12 rounds...it shows how far Lennox was ahead of the bunch...and how shit the bunch is.

Yip the only worry I have is when Big Len looks around the division and ses what a pile of piss it is Vitali apart, he may be tempted. i hope he doesnt do that. I really dont want that to happen.
And I do agree we do need to see Ricky off the leash but come on guys he was scheduled to fight a real live one last time in a match that was applauded on most fronts.
Seems to me this place is turning into bash.Mr.hatton.com.
which sucks arse majorly.
You know theres stupid comments form allgeged experts who should know better about how hatton only fights lighweights, NO he fought a lightweight in his last bout cos the other tosser pulled out 48 hrs b4 and the other lightweight in a similar late sub situation. Thats not hattons fault.
That doesnt mean he fights lightweights mostly does it, tackie, phillips magee. yawn friggin yawn.
Witter would beat him has fought better, no he wouldnt and once he fought a higher class and shit himslef and ran away and blew his chance.
Ndou's is a shit opponent for Hatton and people dont like it, yet one week later he is a great opponent for Cotto??????? ...I could go on but Ive bored everyone to death already including myself.
All I'm asking for is stop knocking hatton until we know who his next opponent is and may be even the opponent after that. That's sep this year we should at this point be ready to go for the likes of Mitchell, Kostya and Gatti, Judah maybe even cotto (if his right arm is still up to it - joke)

Like it or not, (and I don't like it myself I should point out) but it does. Almost all the big fights happen over there because almost all the top fighters fight there. I was listening to Warren's audio thing about Mitchell on his site yesterday, saying how people don't understand that in America you can tempt fighters with more money because the casino's foot all the bills and that's why getting a top drawer opponent is difficult because they ask for too much money, simple solution to that go fight where the money is.
Look at the respect Wayne McCullough has worldwide and contrast that with the respect Joe Calzaghe has, two very good fighters who couldn't be in a boring fight if they tried, the difference is one fought Morales and the other fought Tocker Pudwill.
If Hatton's not careful before he knows it he'll be thirty and fighting a rematch against Aldo Rios for his wbu belt.

i concur with this comment re the big money fights, but I cant agree with the hatton will be 30 fighting the same standard of opponent. Firstly he wont be fighting then I very much doubt anyway.
Secondly I feel that the big shots and him going stateside are a matter of months not years away.
Hatton wants it, Graham wants it and theres only so long that he will be willing to stagnate at the present level.

I think thats the problem..we were all told last year that that 2004 will be the year..Yeah Pinto might of answered a few questions...but alot of the guys on here were wondering if Pinto was hype or the real deal(myself included)...Im not blaming Hatton....Its Like MrB says..Hatton doesnt call the shots.
When i was talking about the yanks...i was meaning that unless your from the US, Puerto rico, Mexico...youre not allowed to be anygood...hey i know that the States has the best sparring, trainers..etc..but to dismiss alot of very good fighters just because they dont fight in the states is just prejudice.

Well I think he does now. He's got to the stage where he's a big enough draw to have a major say in where his career goes from here.
Just look at Frank's latest comment, that he'll sit down with Hatton, watch some tapes and then they'll make a decision.
That tells you right there that Hatton has input as to who he fights.

Yeah...dont you mean than uncle Frank will sit with Little Ricky on his knee...saying.."Oh..you dont want to fight that nasty man"..whilst making millions off us...I think Warrens first reaction at the Hatton/Pederson fight when asked about Mitchell was his most honest....If the moneys right.
Between Sky and the Gate money there must be a few million quid floating about...

That's funny, I just got this weird image of Ricky Hatton dressed as a schoolboy, but made out of wood like a ventriloquist's dummy, whist being fed a werthers original....
I think I may be mentally ill...

ok I get what you meant now. I was actually thinking about the Mitchell thing as I wrote that, I agree no'one should be maligned for not fighting over there, but the fact is if you want the big fights you've got to go.

Cotto has been a pro for only 3 years, and this will be just his 20th pro fight. Hatton has been a pro more than twice as long, had nearly 40 fights and still never even fought anyone the caliber of N'Dou, much less fought a top-5 guy for a respected title. It's the difference between talking the talk and walking the walk.

blue my intention wasnt to be rude as I stated in the prior post but you are basing your argument on Witter getting a shot at Judah.
As for substance I feel I backed that up with whom Witter has fought in the past 2 years surely if you look at that record that is justification and adds substance?
I have never said hatton is shit as I dont believe this is the case. Who is putting words in whose mouth?
I was extremely surprised by your post about witter hence my question on the facts that witter has fought no-one of note outside Judah and he just didnt turn up.
I dont intend to be offensive and if you find my post that way then I apologise BUT I do find every post you make on hatton to be negative.
that just my opinion.

Sorry Vike but its debatable whether tackie and phillips are not of the same calibre as Ndou.
And I will say it agian does it matter whether you get to the top via a ladder or a winding path as long as you get there? Fighters mature at different times.
Both are young men and have time one is just progressing faster, I dont see this argument Im sorry.
Phillips fought Mitchell and ran him a lot closer than Ndou and then fought hatton straight after, tackie's was similar scoring against mitchell so wheres the logic in that?

Phillips was Mitchell's 3rd fight in his comeback after the torn knee ligament he suffered in his title fight with Tszyu the year before. Look at
Mitchell's record and you'll see the year he was out post-Tszyu, then a series of tune-ups (of which Phillips was the 3rd) forming a progression back to world-class opposition. In the mere 2 years of Mitchell's comeback from injury he's fought and beaten not only the 2 best opponents on Hatton's career record (Phillips and Tackie), but several other top guys as well. The fact that in the case of both Phillips and Tackie, Hatton waited until after Mitchell beat them to take them seems more than coincidence to me. It's called cherry-picking: you look at the list of guys the proven top fighters have already beaten, and pick the safest ones among them; either guys getting on in years (Phillips) or naturally smaller guys (Tackie). In addition, you have all fights in your protected prospect's hometown, with a hand-picked referee who, even if he winds up sans ref job because the opponent objects, gets to be a ringside judge for the fight. Can you not see what is going on here?

I don't know how on earth N'Dou could be sold as an opponent for Hatton when the guy couldn't even stop that inept Kenyan that Junior Witter blew away.
