Watch the presser mate. Froch seemed to be buying it hook, line and sinker, saying to Groves "where's your trainer?".
His trainer was never going to be there 12 days before the Haye fight.

Groves said before in an interview that booth was busy with haye and when that was done, the next morning he was with him 100% for his fight. Knowing he knows this, it seems unplausable that groves has spat the dummy because of not getting the attention he deserves and had a row with booth. You can see him being frustrated and changing his tune the closer the fight gets but to the extent of a split, I don't believe it. If it was true we would know who was his new trainer right now and people would be asking this relevant question, if not who is it, who will it be and aren't you a bit stupid so close to the fight george.

Maybe George should come to the next presser is a sequened dress and heels.

Maybe he has bought it completely... or maybe he is pretending he is buying it.

Maybe he doesn't care one little bit either way !

Maybe he doesnt care but if he did believe it and it affected his training and how hard he worked, etc then it could be detrimental. I hope not though.

Booth is the king of psychological warfare though. He knows that Froch wouldnt believe it unless it seems like it's 'official'. If he's not in Groves's corner come fight night then fair play :TU:

Do you think this is legit or an attempt by Booth at psychological warfare?

I think Booth genuinely thought Groves could beat Froch, whereas if this is all a ploy it would suggest the opposite.

Ill go with it being a legit rift.

That's my prediction to. I dont think Groves has got the punch resistance to hang with Froch especially when Carl can take such a good shot himself. Anyway, it's an intriguing fight.
It's gonna be hyped as an intriguing fight, but it's a mismatch IMO. I think Froch will be able to take him out when he likes. It's not Haye-Harrison, but it's not far off.
Groves has skills and good power. Just wait and see.

I get what you're getting at but I think Booth would try and get any little edge he could! He knows that Carl is a very experienced world champion who has been in with the very best in the division and I have the feeling he's looking for any little advantage he can.

Assuming this is true its an odd decision unless something big has happened behind closed doors.

I'm expecting Groves to do something a bit unorthodox this fight, not sure what but I suspect a devious plan has been cooked up to try and even the odds.

What you say makes complete sense to me.

The only thing that holds me back from fully subscribing to that POV is that it would be an extremely hard thing to keep secret and if he is playing Froch and also stays away from Groves completely then it will surely affect Groves preparation. I know Booth is a self styled master tactician and all, but is seems to go a bit too far.

The media arent going to be around all the time that George is in training though is he. They could be doing sessions and nobody except the people in the camp would even know! I guess we'll only truely know come fight night.

No but if Carls camp really wanted to know, it wouldn't be hard to find out media or not. Plus if Hearn got a sniff you know he would be passing that onto Carl.

Personally I don't think Carl is bothered either way, nor should he be, Groves isn't Andre Ward.

There's hardly anyone in the gym though, Booth only trains Haye, Lee and Groves and I'm sure he's getting paid enough to give the sparring partners a bit of money to keep quiet.

If its a wind up i fail to see the funny side of it. If its staged to get more press then they are scrapping the bottom of the barrel.

I think they will have had a genuine bust up and parted ways. Its a real shame for Groves and could not have happened at a worse time. Still, he was going to get a pasting with or without Booth, the onoy difference now is it will probably end in round 3 and not round 4 :DD

It's not a wind up intended to be funny, the idea will be that this will lull Froch into a false sense of security and disrupt his preparations.

Pointless ploy.
I think the fact they have frochs attention as he listens to comments & replies. I think they believe they have a psychological edge & are being silly IMO
