He's actually getting into proper fighting shape now, which makes a huge difference. I don't see him ever being a world champ, unless he is matched very softly for a vacant belt, but he's definitely a very stiff test now for up and comers. I'll be interested to see how far he goes, I'd pick him to beat Fury in a rematch.

Fair play to Price if they take this, I think it's a terrible match up for him but you can't fault his bravery.

Backward step for chisora now I'd rather see him defend his title v povetkin that's the company he wants to mix with now. & price needs a less pressure fight at the moment imo

Chisora's given Price some absolute hidings in sparring from what I've heard, like.

Hope to see it, anyway. I like both of them a lot.

I don't think Price would beat him over 12, but I don't think it would go 12. Price could potentially stop him in one round.

potentially yes. chisora can be hurt and while he has good head movement he is very open during his own wild attacks.

price COULD KO him early but he could also just as well fail and then get walked down. I'm not saying price has no chance but in this case there is little to gain and much to lose. to much of a danger of a third KO in a row and even if he wins he doesn't gain much.

let him beat 3-4 easy opponents and then a guy like chisora and he is close to a world title. but he needs a string of wins first.

I would do it like this:

1. fight 2 bums for 1st round KOs
2. fight a durable but easy opponent
3. fight an european gatekeeper like bidenko or hammer
4. fight a guy like chisora

if he wins those 5 fights which could be done in about 15-18 months (first 3 fights can be done in 4-5 months or so the last 2 need more preparation time) he is very close to a title bout, probably even a mandatory.

don't you think that this is a better plan than throw him into a 50-50 fight with chisora that gets him nowhere after two defeats in a row?

This will be a better fight if Price has a confidence-booster first against some thick-skulled East European who can give him rounds but won't pose a real threat.

Who's Price finished in 1 round? An extremely nervous McDermott and a finished and useless Audley Harrison. As if he'd have the same result with Chisora, ffs.

Not really. Why take such a huge step back from the level he last fought at? One gimme I can understand, get back in there to shake it all off etc

I don't understand your thinking behind a win over Chisora now wouldn't mean anything yet in 18 months it would mean Price would be close to a world title shot.

A win over Chisora in a 50-50 fight, winning the Lonsdale outright and also the Euopean in the process would put Price right back to where he was before Thompson 1 IMO.

Nobody here is saying he would finish him in a round, just that he could carry enough power to be capable of that. I think Price could knock Del Boy out.

I can't believe Price is still so overrated after his two woeful performances against Thompson.

The guy needs to fight a few fighters better than McDermott/Sexton and lesser than Thompson/Chisora before he steps in with World top 10/15 level opposition again.

Why not just throw Price in with Thompson again? Sink or swim.

I don't even think Price is capable of finishing a distance fight against anyone durable. They don't need to be a hard puncher. I honestly think a guy like Dominic Guinn would tire out and stop Price late.
