“We sparred on several occasions and we never thought we’d fight each other because of the difference in weight class,” Leonard said. “And when we did spar, once in a while I’d get him and once in a while he’d get me. But I don’t know why we never fought. It would’ve been an honor to fight Aaron Pryor.”

Sugar Ray Leonard by convincing hard fought decision. The speed power and finesse were to much for Pryor to deal with. Leonard wins 8 out of 12 or 10 out of 15 rounds. He outworks and dazzles The Hawk with footwork.

It would be a hell of a fight while it lasted.......not the fight between Ray and Aaron, but the fight Aaron would put up against the 4 guys that it would take to try to get him into the ring to face Ray Leonard.

See Buzz. This is why I love ya anyway. Even though we disagree on Politics. You're a delight on most any other subject.

- Usual grunts overlapping the Loma thread with this one.

Be clear, Leonard and Floydy are more scavenger than fighter, hence Floydy would never deign to fight Loma until his 2nd shoulder surgery.

Aaron whooped Hearns before Ray did and has a better record and title record, 39-1, 11-0 title record having KOed every HOFer. Debuted against Cervantes in new division for starters.

Not so Ray, 36-3-1 with a 10-2-1 title record as Americas' golden darling. When he held that splashy dinner for the writers and Aaron and Marv, spec was which one he'd fight first.

Neither when he tossed his own trrd in his own punch bowl to announce his retirement. Who could ever be so cruelly callous as that?

I've always favored the high octane unorthodoxy of Aaron who was a buzz saw in the nature of Duran, but Ray said no save when Aaron was in the middle of a mgr lawsuit and couldnt fight at all.

Scavengers in the HOF!
