Met Ricky Burns after his comeback after losing to AAA and remember him being a friendly guy. Not sure even he believed me when I told him he would be a world champ. Watching IFLTV you would have to say Barker and Joshua are both great blokes for an interview.

All up though most of the boxers I've met have been friendly and respectful. Sadly you can't always say the same for their fans.

On the other hand Chris Eubank was an arse and so is his son. He once tried to get a mcdonalds closed just for him after a show.

I've met Eubank twice around Brighton and found him to be a very genuine guy (different to when the cameras are on him I guess). The first time I was with my disabled nephew and Eubank couldn't have been nicer. He approached us and spent loads of time talking to my nephew, he even told us to wait while he went away and came back with an ice cream (for the boy) and signed photo's.
I know he has a 'Marmite' public persona but from my experience I have nothing but respect for him.

I disagree about Calzaghe, he's been very approachable and down to earth every time I've met him. He even invited me to his private party and he doesn't really know me. However, I agree about Nathan.

At the moment, has to be Ricky Burns. Big Glenn McCrory and Johnny Nelson are true gents too. Top boxer of all time in the nice guy stakes has to be Richie Woodhall. Polite,pleasant,articulate and humble yet very knowledgeable. All my own opinion of course. :-)

The fact that so many different names are chosen, says a lot about fighters in the sport, nasty in the ring, nice guys outside.

Jon Thaxton always seemed to come across as a decent bloke.

Richie is a guy who always strikes me as "too nice to be a boxer". His honesty after the...Catley fight?...sums it up.

I've met a couple:

Johnny Nelson at the Froch v Rybaycki/Witter v Bradley fight in Nottingham. Was a super nice guy and stopped and chatted to me for a good 20 mins.

John Conti at the York Hall show involving McDermott v Olubamiwu. Again a really nice guy.

He gets a real slagging on here at times but I've also met Buncey twice and he's also a really nice guy who was good fun to chat to.

I know he's not British but Lucas Browne always comes across as a classy, humble guy. Has a lot of contact with people on twitter too.

I'd second that. Going on his Ifilm london interviews, he seems a very nice, good human being. His personality doesnt match the tats and the bald head/ bouncer look he has lol.

Ricky Burns seems as decent and down to earth as you'll find.
Listening to him, you'd hardly believe he was in the modern fight game.

To be honest there's never been a rule that says nice guys can't kick the sh*t of of anyone, it's just they're not the sort. Generally your bellends and "local hard-cases" who make their reputation of bullying aren't that hard.
What I'm trying to say is that there's plenty of guys out there who are unassuming people who could make a few bullies absolutely sh*t it.
But yes, Richie comes across as a top, top man and it's always a pleasure to see him on the tele or listen to him on radio.
