No, all of them are bullies who know how to make a few quid; if they were as good as they say they'd be world famous in MMA or boxing, not bashing people up on estates and taking their drugs and selling them on or ripping gold chains off bodybuilders necks.

Most of them have a lot of bloodlust and would have been better and happier in the forces where they could get some action, terrify some people and be well thought of, maybe get a medal or 2.

Billiy Williams (Jango) was supposed to be a really good boxer in his youth but a nutter; a few who knew him (on BoxRec) said he was different league to Roy Shaw and McClean and the rest of them and that's why he was never mentioned by them.

You'd be amazed how many hard nuts can tolerate each others company but as soon as there is someone there who isn't on their level they have to show them 'respect' and give them a hiding. The vast majority don't get their reputations for beating other hard people but for making a real mess of smaller and weaker ones.

This. Half the so called hard cases around my way have built their "rep" through going over the top against normal people who frankly didnt want to know in the first place!

Fighting other so called hard cases seems too risky. Seems like a lot of fake friendships exist this way too.

Well said. I learned this growing up. I wondered how the four hardest pudenda in the area all ran about with each other, whenever you had one on their own the other three were derided as bullies or blowhards but when together they would smash lesser folk for nothing. They were just scared of each other and it was easier to act as pals than get their reps destroyed by one another. Now they are old men and have had numerous hidings of young team wanting their reps. It's pretty pathetic really.

The amusing thing is when one of these tough guys is in the presence of a genuine tough guy. Its embarrassing.

I was once mistaken for Tom Dallas in a pub many years ago by a so called up and coming tough guy, he was kissing my arse until I pointed out that I wasn't in fact Mr Dallas! Instead of brushing it off he insisted I was! I told him I wasn't and gave him my real name, he then proceeded to say that he knew me anyway and that I was a good boxer too! ( never had a bout ) Was strange as fvck. I can only assume he had gone so far with the arse kissing thing that he just carried on with it!

Doncaster has a few nut jobs too, a good few years ago a girl was randomly stabbed in the Arndale centre by a nut case, even in the park in Balby (near the railway) a lass was killed at random by another nutcase. I'm sure Palooka can confirm the Arndale Centre one as it was a fair few years ago.

I remember when i was around 10 we used to get 50p and get the bus from Edlo to Donny for 2p, to the Southern bus station run across the road to Sunspot arcade and spend the remainder and piss about in the car park above the bus station. There was a flood of blokes trying to get you into the bogs. Instinct told me it was wrong and not to go, man its a wonder I wasnt killed as a kid we were all over Donny, down the market with the gypsies kicking shit out of you. Its only when you look back now you think fcuk me!

I can confirm that; the girl was called Bridie; her Mum and Dad used to run The Plough in town (next to Tut N Shive); cleaned their windows for years and years.

The other girl got stabbed last year in Elmfield Park; down Elmfield Road (past the Museum).

Both were killed at random by mentally ill women.

I used to go to the SunSpot as well (it's closed now, it was bought by a bloke with a few pubs and they tried to make it a pub and did the work themselves, they dug the foundations out and not gone back, the bloke went bankrupt and had a nervous breakdown over it). I put my bus fair, 2 pence. into the penny falls thinking I was on to a winner and had to walk to Armthorpe, up Hatfield Lane! It took hours :(

I do and I know of the lad who stabbed him; he was from Balby and got a life sentence. He stabbed the lad (Carl) over nothing outside Woolworths upstairs in the Arndale; my mates dad; Mr Cuffy was security and was about first there. It's an awful shame, it was over nothing at all; the lad who did it was just a daft kid and will be institutionalised. There was a bit of a knife culture around back then in Doncaster; horrible.

Stabbed her then hung himself. Some sort of domestic dispute. It was on the next street to me.

There was a shooting last year and he year before a lad I know slit his own throat at home.

Apart from that it's dead quiet.
