I think if the fight does happen,Carl Froch will definitely ice George Groves next time, he started the fight to slowly and Groves put him over for the second time in his professional career, and I thought Shit, this could be a long night for the Cobra. If it gets made Froch will come out steaming.
As for the negotations. Groves is being quite cagey with what he has been offered so far, but he does run the risk of getting shafted should it go to purse bids.

Typical response from you, don't know what to say, so you come up with some shit meme. For the record, I'm way too lazy to play twister, can't even touch my toes and I have visited the barbers in the last 6 months.

Aren't purse bids for mandatory fights though. Groves isn't #1 - he was a voluntary defence, so do the same rules apply. I suppose this fight is mandated in a sense, in that it was called for by the IBF - but it's a rematch of a 'non-mandatory' fight, to which purse bid rules would not have applied. I'm wondering if it is quite as watertight as people are suggesting.
I doubt if it is anyway, that Hearn will do everything he can to avoid purse bids if that's the case, won't want to risk losing control of the fight.
Also, if Groves turns down the 15% = then surely that's the end of it, and Froch is then free to defend any ranked IBF fighter, or even take a non-title fight if he wished to?
Groves was mandatory for the first fight. If Groves turns down the 15% then that will be that, but 15% only applies to purse bids, not any negotiations before that.
Groves wasn't mandatory, he wasn't even ranked in the top 3, so how could he be mandatory? You have to be the highest ranked fighter (not neccessarily number 1) to be mandatory.

Groves is clearly number 5 there, and was before the fight too.
The 15% applies to this fight, as Hearn and Groves had not signed a contract, if they had, then the terms of that would have stood. As it stands now, Hearn strictly speaking has to offer him no more than 15% - although I suspect he will sweeten the deal to make it happen, as there's a lot at stake.

Look at their own rankings:
http://www.ibf-usba-boxing.com/ratings/index/org/1
He was number 4 behind Thomas Oost (who was the mandatory for a while) before they dropped him for fighting for another title.
http://www.ibf-usba-boxing.com/ratings/ibfrch
Look there, it even says they dropped him from 4 to 6 after he lost to Froch.
It was widely reported in both the boxing press and the press that he was the IBF mandatory. I'm fairly sure Froch was quoted several times as saying that he never ducks a challenge or anybody, hence why he was giving Groves the shot even though he didn't believe he had earned it.

Just checked, you're correct. He was mandatory.

Stevenson was mandatory for a while last year too, it's been like a revolving door for them.
