That was a good few years ago Ronnie has come on leaps and bounds. As for the people I'm saying he would be I honestly don't know if he could or couldn't but I have seen a lot of the 2. 1) John Simpson likes to fight on the front foot push fighters back is strong with a good chin if I compare flag fight against Ronnie the winner is the one that goes backwards. John is a little weak to the body and Ronnie is a good body puncher. I stick by the best chin wins and I would back Ronnie who's never even been rocked or down in all his fight Kickboxing or boxing. 2) Anthony Crolla - he's a different fighter at lightweight to what he is a super feather. I think it gives him more strength and power. At lightweight I would probably fancy Crolla to win but Ronnie would have a punchers chance. Crolla would need to stay switched on and out box him for the rounds. At Super Feather Ronnie would walk through him. His lack of snap in his punches would be the problem in my eyes.. I think that's my reasoning but at the end of the day the 3 of them are just human they all bleed just like you and me. I know Ronnie would be happy fighting either at Super Feather
John Simpson's weak to the body are you forgetting the spar with Appleby when Ronnie nearly touched down twice with body shot, kettle pot black Davie.
Bottom line is ronnie thus far is a good average pro and until he actually achieves something like Crolla or John we simply can't talk in the same sentence as them

The proof is in the pudding..................................

Billy do you genuinely make up stories to suit yourself.. I don't think your in a position to talk about people going down in sparring.. We don't shout this from the rooftops as it's just sparring.. Paul couldn't get near Ronnie in sparring .. He was getting wound up and actually came over during the rounds shouting at you that he's too awkward and he can't hit him. He never nearly touched down twice that's just complete bull shit.. I'm honest enough to say though The best body shot Ronnie got hit with in your gym was by Tyrone Nurse.. It was a cracking shot with Ronnie putting on lots of pressure and he got hit with a short right.. He stayed up and continued to hold his own if not better.. Let's put it one way Nurse sparred toe to toe with Ricky (great spar). He was more cautious with Ronnie more on the backfoot trying not to get hit.. Ask yourself where the power lies.. If you want to come out with sparring stories tell the truth.. I was in your gym the following week and as Paul was meant to be training he said to me "wow your brother hits hard". Come back with some facts not your fiction

And for the record Billy can you let us know how many times Ronnie touched down in sparring your gym? Also anyone else whose had Ronnie sparring how many times has he touched down. Out of all his kickboxing fights how many times did he touch down. Is a lot harder being kicked in the body and head than it is being punched I'll tell you that??? The answer is "0"... How many fighters including Ricky have touched down in sparring while sparring Ronnie?? ;) I'm not one for sparring stories but let's put your ones right?

I asked Ronnie this morning. I wasn't at the sparring your talking about.. Ronnie had just had a operation on his privates and Paul hit him low.. He still continued on and didn't take a knee.. I was there when Paul couldn't hit him and was screaming at you in the corner saying he couldn't hit him!! Ronnie is not the next mayweather I have never said that he's a solid pro with a small chance of going quite far!!! We know where he is and where he can go!! You think Ricky punches faster than Khan who's diluded?? You also say John should fight at Super Bantam then put him in a fight at lightweight.. fornicate having you looking after his career!! Billy "2 face" Nelson.. Answer my question has Ronnie ever been down or took a knee in your gym?? Has anyone took a knee sparring Ronnie???

To be fair, Clark needs an opportunity in order to prove himself.
To call him an average pro is childish. I don't know the bloke but looking at his record he has been a pro for 3 years, is unbeaten in 12 fights including 2 draws - both away from home against unbeaten boxers.
Instead of trying to wind him up, why not be the one to give him an opportunity to prove himself ? - you did not answer the question : would you put Simpson in with Clark ?

Billy maybe one day.. one day.. you will stop talking stories of sparring, Ronnie has plenty of sparring stories but alba said above hes not an arsehole, See thing is billy see a debate with us, its with us and not Ronnie and you use Ronnie to win a debate with David. Ronnie stays out whole thing and just sees you as having a very big mouth, and hes correct as when you seen him you would talk as if hes a pal.And make up lies, When Ronnie came to your gym he didnt have a drivers license so it usually meant someone had to take him which they were always someone to witness sparring and honestly none of your stories ring true, We have an opinion that Ronnie has tools to beat John Simpson which is an opinion, And you think you know better cause you are training Simmo, Its a debate so try show some class, maybe take a class off of Ricky and win a debate with David without bringing Ronnie into it, we dont slate Ricky as your arrogance is nothing to do with him!

Says the man who thought Ronnie schooled Ricky, FFS Ricky wasn't even out first gear, you need to show respect wee man.
And by the way tony Lindie totally denies saying it was hard to determine who the world champ was when they sparred, he actually pissed himself laughing, deluded David!!!
Your better letting ronnie try to prove himself in the ring instead of blowing his trumpet on here or at least wait till he wins something.

Well luckily for me Tony said that I front of a few people!! So I think he's just not wanting to hurt your feelings!! I have never said Ronnie Schooled Ricky?? You said it the opposite away. All I have said is Ronnie held his own when I was there watching!! What my words where that Tony had said was it's hard to know who the World Champion was in their. I read from that it was a pretty even spar!! As for the bet if that fight happens I will be more than happy to bet you it will be private or what about a wee bet on this fight?? Simpson wins I come down to your gym and me and you can do some sparring?? Crolla wins you come up to Dundee and we do some sparring. I'm easily giving away 8 stone plus to you but I like to see if you can back up this big talk?? You still haven't answered my question on if Ronnie or others had been dropped in sparring.. Little tip guys in glass houses shouldn't through stones.. Anyway sounds like a fair deal to me u have forgot more about boxing than me so should be easy

Wow this has escalated, Billy every single time your sitting here in an argument with David slating Ronnie who has not said a single thing on this thread you complete idiot. This thread is becoming a laughing stock, Truth is John Simpson has fought at domestic level and never above so why would it be such a ridiculous fight for Ronnie to want, Hes slated for fighting journeyman, Fighters like Michael Roberts are prospects wont fight him so where does he go? Billy I really think maybe if your thoughts on Ronnie are like that then im sure hed be more than happy to come to your gym and instead have you say it to his face. Fact is hes a fighter, your not!! hes achieved more in martial arts and combat sports than you can only dream of, you take punches on mits he takes them on the chin. now learn some respect and if you are going to argue with david insult the person you are arguing with!!

It has got out of hand and it is silly; Simpson v Crolla is a good bout though I think Crolla may stop John. It is natural for an ambitious boxer to want to have a go against the more established men. Betting money on a fight is easy if you've got plenty to bet with and is more difficult if you haven't. Scottish boxing seems like a small pool to be in and it'd surely be better without all the back biting and name calling.

We're Ronnie goes is up to him and is manager unfortunately I can't see him get any form of title fight this year, with Walsh,Sykes, ward ect all in the mix ronnie seems to be a bit off the mark through injuries, I do hope he gets a title shot if he wins is a diffrent matter but what he will find all the above named fighters are so much better than what he's fought, although stylelistically Walsh would be good for him but if he were to beat Gary he'll move up to the next level before he'd fight ronnie.
It doesn't help that his promoter doesn't have tv so he can showcase himself, if only he waited a few days things could have been so diffrent for him

Agreed!! I joke about sometimes but I try not to be disrespectful to any fighter or really person. When my brother is getting talked about and it's not true then I'm going to say the truth.. I think Scottish boxing should work together and the prospects should fight each other.. Promoters work together. First thing is first the 2 faced people need to be pointed out!! Billy wants to get personal with me and Ronnie. He should back up his words have gave him a very fair bet!! It's no hard feelings and I respect him as a trainer just not as a person!!
As for the post Billy has just made about TV!! Will Sky still be interested in Ricky and boxing in Scotland if he loses to Crawford?? I think not will be back to being on undercards I'm afraid. Sky boxing is very much in the air after each fight the worse the shows the less dates Eddie will get.. Boxing in Scotland for as long as I know has been up and down between promotors. Sometime Morrison is on top and sometimes it's Gilmour.. Injuries happen he's 1-2 wins away from a British title as a mandatory. TV will come and I'm sure when he gets the chance he will grab it.. Just to clear up my opinion on where Ronnie is!! He's fringe!! British level.. Ready for a British title fight which he can win.. If he goes any further will be down to a lot if hard work and a bit of luck.. I'm not diluded I know where he is

Hes in an elimanator for the British so hopefully he can push on and put injuries behind him. I believe he needs a big fight this year and even Maxi Hughes rematch in Scotland makes sense. He genuinely doesnt care about the titles I dont think and he would fight Gary Sykes in a 10 rounder even if he held a title! Its all about the competing to him as he lives to fight. 100% right regarding waiting a few days as he shouldnt have went with Morrison or Gilmour! petty argument between these two is hindering scottish boxing so much its unreal. I cant stand Gilmour which I make blunt to Ronnie and tell him what a massive mistake but hey hes in a contract and has to get on with it like the pro he is. Billy I really think you should read things you put as quite honestly they make no sense! Ronnie was offered Simpson on short notice about 18 months ago and has won 5 fights since then and think Simpson has lost 3? so why wouldnt he be ready for Simpson? I hate the whole discussion as genuinly rate Simpson so highly and feel like im talking down about the guy which im not but its a good 50-50 fight where Simpson has expeirience and Ronnie has something to prove! Hes slated for having nobody on his record but realistically this is a middle fight in which I know Simpson would take, Both are on cuff of british level at superfeather if John deciced to hang around at the weight that is. I dont claim to be a boxing expert and to be honest since Ronnie started boxing iv became even less interested than I was before due to all the politics but fact of the matter is Ronnie has been mentioned his record is padded etc which is a fair comment but alot of fighters have not wanted the fights for whatever reason. Alex Morrison said to me on facebook the reason fighters dont fight each other is as simple as it looks, they dont wanna take risks, outside influences such as family make sure fight doesnt go ahead, injuries and pull out. Good luck to Simmo against Crolla, not the kind of fight I wanted as would preferred to have seen him in with Steven Ormond or move down to feather but I know hell give it his all

It's the same dickheads every time chatting bullshit and trying to have a go at Billy. Why would he lie about sparring stories? And if David's trying to suggest Ronnie Clark put Ricky Burns on the floor in sparring, then it's time to take every single thing he says for what it is, bullshit.
