Interestingly, how many 18-50 men on the planet do you think WOULDN'T fight George Groves for the money Froch will get? It surely can't be more than a couple of thousand people at most.

Yeah but these 18-50s you talk of that would take the fight wouldn't have any belts or a more than respectable ring CV or a massive amount or pride to lose. They'd be going in there with no expectations. I don't know for sure but I think most top level fighters would take a lesser amount (still would have been a big enough amount of money) e.g. Froch Chavez fight, then take the full amount for a fight against someone they're "scared" of and risk losing belts, pride and tarnishing legacy! Froch could have had a career fighting b and c level fighters in Nottingham and held one of the alphabet belts for his whole career and retired with a lot of money as he would have built up a big home town following (like what Bute and some Germans do) but instead he's never really took the easy option.
I agree with all that. Froch has always been a shining light in the ring. I think pre-internet and social-media (whatever that means), he'd have been a true British icon. He's always struck me as a train hard, fight hard, fornicate-off home type of guy, and he thinks all the other fluff is a burden he could do without.

Comes across the same to me, seems to be a good family man too.
I can see the rematch being a very cagey and possibly even boring affair for the first 4-5 rounds. Froch will be wary of Groves speed and timing and will be reluctant to throw first. Froch will obviously try to drag the fight into the "championship" rounds. Groves seems to have stamina issues and Froch comes on stronger the longer the fight goes on. Still a very intriguing fight but personally I think Groves will get stopped again same sort of round 9-10

Got to disagree with you MW, I don't think Groves is going to get better at all. He peaked in the first fight in all likelihood. Froch can definitely improve on that though, and not being floored by a huge right hand this time around will help an awful lot.
I have a feeling this fight will be totally different from the first in that Froch won't be bossed early, will have much more success in the first half and will have Groves out of there before 8. I think Groves will know he has to conserve energy so will be overly careful at the start to compensate, and that will play into Froch's hands and give Carl those couple of rounds he needs to get his own rhythm.
Yeah I can understand people fancying Carl to finish the job here, but I liked George's chances first time round, so I'm expecting more of the same here. Groves looks the single hardest puncher @ supermiddle, and I'm wondering if Carl's amazing chin might have finally cracked. He took some hellacious shots last time, and I thought his legs looked ready to go before his last gasp assault did for Groves ( helped by the over eager ref ).
Either man winning won't be a major surprise, one big punch could put either of them in touble.

Why do you think George Groves is not going to improve,do you think his career progression has plateaued already? Did Froch not improve after getting a whooping from Jermain Taylor.

I hope it's the City Ground too, partly because if it was somewhere bigger Froch would never shut up about the attendance, they're already trying to claim it's the biggest fight in British Boxing history

Looking at things in the round, if there is one British fighter who doesn't deserve to be second guessed on bottle, it is Froch. I don't doubt for a second he would face anyone, I think maybe he's had difficulties taking into account how things look to the outside world. He was definitely in denial in the post fight interview, and seriously mis-judged the mood of fight fans and the media. Realising that, over the following days and weeks, has probably pxxxxed him off no end, but the bottom line is Carl Froch would fight anyone really.
