Fair does, I can imagine the realities of pro boxing are far from how they are in my head. I did think that ratings and weight divisions worked toward making the sport fairer and seeing that fighters were rewarded by title shots through their effort and results.

LOL, silly boy!
I think Curtis has a point regarding cash. He knows he is likely going to be losing his title in the first defence. He can either lose that title to Hamilton for nothing, or sell it to Coyle for better cash...stark business reality says it will be the latter.
My irritation is that if Woodhouse loses his title in the first defence in a disputed decision, and his opponent wants to move on to better things we will have him and all the fanboys calling for rematch saying it 'isn't fair'.
This 'come on boys, whats this crap about getting what you deserve?' mantra will be cast to the bin, and we will have to hear how 'his dreams have been snatched away'
While this is happening, Hamilton is cast into the wilderness. Rank hypocricy in my opinion...but as has been said, it is a business

Do you go to the trenches for every fighter who loses a close decision?

Not sure of the tone of the question. You asking if I have a problem with Curtis, or I'm connected to Hamilton? Because it seems a leading question, with all due respect

I've been reading what thepocketrocket has to say for well over a decade and he's always been a principled and forthright guy - he's also always liked to take on the majority.

I have never reacted well to forum darlings getting a free pass, whilst fighters who aren't popular ( or have unpopular promoters) end up being slaughtered for the same thing.
I know there are people here who love Curtis and have commented that the thoughts regarding it being a business are 'bang on', would be screaming from the rafters that the 'sport was being destroyed by this attitude' if it was another person other than the social media darling who were uttering the words!
But I know it is a business and all...I can wear different hats...but i can't stomach hypocricy from fans, especially supposedly hardcore, knowledgable ones who frequent forums

You're not wrong but you've got to bear in mind that Curtis and others who take the time to interact on the forum, even if in part it's to maintain/build their profile, will inevitably strike up cyber-relationships (no Vaseline) and bonds with a percentage of posters who'll back them like they would anybody else they 'know'. It's human nature.

The beauty of building a social media profile, so you are correct.
I have always found myself loving the sport, rather than the 'cult of personality', so I'm never guilty of that, but it is a human trait. People need to realise that they don't 'know' these guys, and a social media precence is built up to cynically manipluate public opinion.

Taking the cult of personality out of it, Woodhouse has earned his stripes for you, no?

Oh yeah...first thing I did when he won was message Dave saying how happy i was that he had acheived his dreams, even if I thought the decision was sketchy.
Delighted for him...I mean that

Loads of people assuming a lot of things, be patient and all will be revealed soon enough, just to clarify I've hod NO offer to rematch Hamilton, it's hard to accept or turn down a offer if you have not recieved one

Well if it is hypocrisy for people to only call for re matches for fighters they like...

There's no guarantee Coyle would beat Curtis. Stylistically, it's a great match up.

Not sure what your point is, and not really going to rack my brains too hard as I'm not that fussed.
If you have summet to say, say it. Speak your opinion like I have spoken mine, instead of the 'smart' barbs....

If Hamilton got the decision would you be on a thread about him harping on about how Woodhouse must get the rematch?

Harping on? If saying a champion who gave a guy a voluntary defence and probably won the fight is deserving of a rematch is 'harping on' then words fail me.
In answer to your question, I don't think he would be OWED an immediate rematch due to the circumstances of him getting the fight (arguably not deserving in the first place) To counter that however he would have EARNED a rematch and proved himself worthy of top table, so would be very likely to get a mandarory status, or at worst a final eliminator.
There would be no doubt Curtis should have been getting a rematch at some point
I do think comparing this with the Anwar and Theopane results is silly as Hamilton won them on a UD and averaged a five point victory in both.
But as Curtis said, no offer has come in. This is up to Hamilton's camp to push

I asked whether you would have actively pushed for it. If not then are you not guilty of the same hypocrisy you accuse others of?
If I am a hypocrite for apparently only wanting to see re matches of people I like, I don't see the difference.

A rematch with Hamilton is one of the easier title fights at the weight, so take that unless there is a money fight waiting for you.
