Brilliant performance against Collazo, so called beast, showed his doubters that. he is still a force in boxing, whilst the haters will still hate, many of them are broke today

Why start a thread titled "Khan, haters and doubters" ?

Instead of being negative, why not be positive and start a thread about "great performance from Khan" or something.

As in life, positivity attracts positivity (and vice versa) - it is almost as if you were hoping to start an argument, which I am sure is not the case ......

Good post ! My intention was too highlight Khan's performance after all the bad comments against him from before the fight and the lack of support in certain areas, I think arguments happen whenever you mention Khan anyway, for and against, but what has been positive though, has been the turnaround in opinion in certain areas, for the better, I just hope Khan keeps out of the news papers, when it comes to outside the ring, justified or not.

I watch a video some white british fans took of Khan leaving the ring, they called to him and he celebrated with them, raising his arms and waving to them, whilst showing the scars of battle, we love to win in the states.

I don't think khan has real one punch ko power but he punches solid and often. Throw in his speed and thats why he has a respectable ko %. I can't recall seeing someone walk straight through khan like porter did to malignaggi.

Peterston was close to getting stopped early by Khan but let him off the hook,so he was not walking through his shots, juiced or not

I remember a youngster in Greece in 2004 - when if I recall correctly we had a crap Olympics and one boxer, in the male category anyway. He went all the way to the final (I think it was the final, may have even been semi) and got beat by the world number one - from Cuba to boot, how daunting? Suddenly you've got this Muslim youngster with zero PR training (not that it matters) who looks Pakistani and talks with a Bolton accent, less than 3 years on the back of 9/11, and it seemed like he had to please everyone. And I thought he did a brilliant job, was humble and honest and I've been a fan of his since then. I feel a touch sorry for Broner in that regard. I probably shouldn't as I'm sure he has more money and loads more girlfriends than me, but I kind of don't hold him wholly responsible for being like he is. I think he's missed a bit of nurturing somewhere along the line. The concept of stepping into a boxing ring emblazoned in bling looking like a Belisha Beacon is completely alien to me. Tommy Hearns just had normal trunks, as did Hagler. Good enough for them guys them I'm damn sure some plain shorts and no medallions is good enough for the man who calls himself About Billions.

collazo's a crafty southpaw who gave hatton and berto plenty of problems. he also lacks power and has slow feet, making him easy pickings for an on form khan - hardly a beast.

anyway, what's wrong with not liking khan? do we have to? I appreciate the world class wins he's had in America, and understand why he feels kell brook isn't worthy of a fight with him. I also understand why maidana and not khan got the shot at mayweather, given each man's previous showing, one hot (maidana-broner) and one cold (khan-diaz).

but as someone who's followed khan's development, draining down to 135 and fighting super feather after super feather (incl. underpowered limond and a michael gomez who was able to mount nothing versus ricky burns) and getting destroyed in his first PPV fight vs an unknown, it's been an alienating experience and I seldom get excited about his bouts.

his win over maidana looks really good now, a fight I scored even.

I can obviously see why Khan fancied the ££'s from a possible Mayweather fight but just can't see a possible way that he wins it. There is no doubt that there would still be big pay days out there for him after it unless he plans to use it to cash out of the sport.

For me there are winnable 'Big' fights out there for him against Guerrero, Berto, Marquez, Alexander which would cement a chance of facing Mayweather next year without the risk of inactivity and less possibility of a loss (less than those names at the top anyway).

You could say that about most fighters at world level, don't know why you put Alverez in the mix though, Garcia would not beat him again, He could out box Bradley, when Pacman boxed, he out classed Bradley, I agree Maidana is a better fighter now, touch an go, provodnikov, no one will want to fight him and Pacman beats everyone but for Mayweather.

You may be under-estimating Khan slightly. Canelo isn't really an option so I'll discount that one. But I could see Khan winning V Bradley, Maidana (even though yes hes improved but I think Khan has too) and Garcia in a re-match, not saying they're certainties but I think he has a good chance. However I agree I'd pick Pacquiao, Mayweather and probably Provodnikov (due to his style) over Khan.

Khan boxed brilliantly but on the flipside Collazo was very, very poor. Didn't move his head at all and a total lack on imagination and combination punching.

If he had implemented a better gameplan the bout would have been more competitive. He would have still lost mind, but it was a poor performance from him.

He's never been a massive puncher but maybe he read the other "easy money" thread about him KOing Khan and believed his own hype!

Be nice to see Khan in with another proven welterweight to solidify his position as a top contender. Or Kell Brook!

I think Khan's got at least another 2 or 3 years' worth of improvement to come, plus he'll probably get stronger too. Guys like Pacman you would possibly expect to not still be competing at the top level by then. Although I think Mayweather will have enough in the tank to do him for another 5 years, personally, such is his style and level of conditioning.

If Maidana had Khan in trouble again like he did in the 10th of their first fight, I think he finishes him. Prov. destroys him, Bradley-Khan would be closed and I dunno. Khan's got the skill but Bradley had the right level of awkwardness to beat anyone (as he's proved before)

just watched the fight, and although khan won at a canter, i dont see why people are now favouring him to beat the likes of mayweather and bradley. collazo fought like he just needed to turn up to ko khan. ive seen khan fight a sensible fight before....vs kotelnik. but he reverted to type after that. bradley is a hundred times more mobile than collazo, and would put khan under intelligent pressure...a completely different fight. versatile and intelligent fighters can change and adapt their style, it doesnt happen often, but there are examples. anyone who thinks khan has gone through this process is kidding themselves on. i say again...put him in with a puncher, or a top ten welter, and it wont be long before we see him on the canvas.
if it was kell brook who was fighting collazo last week , i very much doubt the fight would have gone the distance. pretty sure that collazo wouldve been ko'd in three.

that's not excuasable and I've pointed out on here a few times in the past. It's a blight, no two ways about it, but otherwise he comes across OK to me. A few people had it in for him way before he acted like a nob in his no doubt super car. I'd question the 145mph however.

I genuinely believe that Mayweather doesnt duck people out of the fear of losing but does avoid people if they dont assist him in his goal to generate as much $$ as possible. To us as fans that can be frustrating but it is a business afterall.

No way has Garcia greatly improved, yes he beat LM but did you see his last fight? He looked terrible, the great timing everyone says he's got wasn't there that night, if they fought now at WW I'd favour Khan.
I think Mayweather and Prov beat him for obvious different reasons. Call me crazy but with Manny it could be competitive as he hasn't shown his explosive power for a while and although he did beat Bradley I thought Bradley lost it more then Pac winning it. Bradley and Maidana are tough and awkward fights that could go either way. The one he's got to stay away from is Thurman, otherwise that would be a quick K.O

nobody really thinks that Mayweather fears Khan, but Khan's speed will cause him problems, as would Pacman, as did Della Hoya, especially at his age, but he is a cut above them, and as usual will find a way to win.
