I've had a slipped disc, deadlifting for me at any serious weight would probably be followed by an immediate trip to A+E.
I don't ever want to experience the pain of a herniated disc again....ever. I'd rather have my bell end eaten off by praying mantis'.

I aint bad at deadlift but to give u true indication of what the body can do I know a guy who is over 50 and natural and bodyweight 82kgs has pulled around 280kgs in comp maybe more. Deadlift u r reasonably strong if you can lift double your bodyweight . triple your.bodyweight world class

Cigano don't over extend on the top of the lift and don't lean back not good. You are hitching a little on the way up to get over this you need to squat more. Just trying to help. Keep lifting ! Chalk no wraps and barefoot best

I remember wincing a bit watching strongman turned mma fighter, Oli Thompson doing deadlifts on You Tube. I think he had 250 or 280kg or something and tore his bicep badly. I think I will stick with 120kg for reps. It just takes an off-day and you can break yourself with those weights.

I did hitch a little but i think that was because i was near at my max, never done that before on 190 or 200 lifts .
If u watch the video i don't use straps an am in my socks , only use a fabric belt as i hate the big leather ones pinching me which always happens to me it seems .
Going heavier today

..220kg maybe ?? so i will let u know how i get on , thanks for the advise mate, i will take it anyway i can get it today

My Father still competes, he probably knows your friend, he's 72 years old and regularly dead lifts 220kg at 83kg bodyweight.

The problem.with 1,rep maxes is they happen when you least expect.it for me anyway. I have been tired shattered and then boom.I.nail.it. other times fully rested.red bull. Done warm jo sets and fail. On your.one rep max don t think do.it get a little angry before the lift. Keep.technique tight and just pull. No messing or thinking get.down low.and nail it. I hate leather belts too I use val e o belt previous to that scheik.both.comfortable.

I have done 220kg for a single two years ago but have not gone for large numbers since as it did not fit training goals (training for bodybuilding shows). But have been feeling strong as in off season and so eating in surplus for first time in god knows how long and had done sets of 6 at 180 and then one set of 4 at 190 the week previous so thought I was good for it.
Nope

A mate of mine thats been a powerlifting champion wrote this out for me so i am gonna start it this friday for deeds
7wk cycle wud b something like this - 100%=220
Wk Kg. sets/reps
1. 175. 2x5
2. 182.5. 2x3
3. 187.5. 2x3
4. 192.5. 2x2
5. 200. 2x2
6. 210 1+
7. 220. Pb
After ur work sets upto wk4/5 drop weight by about 60% stand on a plate and do deficit deads with speed then heavy partials in rack from knee height, keeping good form etc

3xreps at whatever weight be it bench or dead lift.in experience equals +10gs 1 rep max. E.g 3,reps 210,KGS = 220kgs for 1 rep easy. There various training plans star system. I think 5 x 5 or philip I coan deadlift calculator.in excel.spreadsheet. Philip I.coan r both strength powerlifting legends. Also agree, baby steps.2.5 KGS maybe 5,KGS per week increments don t jump ahead of schedule 7 or 8 weeks plenty.of.time
Good.luck

I train with a UIBBN World Champion (bodybuilding) and that little fcuker also done some PL and weighs 64kg and holds the BDFPA SW record for bench for his class, 127.5kg which blows my mind for his bodyweight. Ridiculous.
I am now off going for PB's as looking ahead to the 2015 natural bodybuilding season and working on things for that goal as determined to take a top three British
