Fights like this embarrass the sport. If I were Wilder I'd be very worried that my management has so little faith in me.

I'm just interested to hear how much this fight will help Wilder learn his craft since he had so few amateur fights

He has less than 2 weeks till the fight.Who the hell can he get on such short notice and no training camp?
How about Alexander Ustinov? He'd take the fight in a heartbeat.

He has over 30 pro fights; he's long past the stage of hiding behind his management or his lack of AM experience. He's lucky Bermane got hurt the Haitian was/is going to chin check him into oblivion

As would Vinny Maddalone, who knocked out Sheppard in two rounds iirc.

Its a stay busy fight burried on an undercard. Why the hell would he fight someone with a chance of beating him when he is fighting for a belt in the next few months.

I don't understand what is so shocking about this. He last fought a couple months ago and probably doesn't want to not have any fights between now and whenever stiverne decides to stop making excuses for not fighting his mandatory.

Why even have a fight at all then?

I would imagine just to stay active. Maybe they have been working on something in the gym that they want to try in a riskless fight. Maybe make a few bucks. Keep building the hype.

I knew Wilder would duck Chauncy Welliver again. Even though Welliver doesn't have much KO power Wilder's people know Welliver would drag this fool deep and drown him. The guy has never went any rounds. They are scared shitless of everybody with a pulse. Welliver's best tool is his iron chin allowing him to go 400 straight HW rounds without ever getting dropped. He doesn't have the type of power you fear in terms of 1 punch knock outs. He would be the perfect fight for this clown to prove something. That he can drop or stop a guy who has never went down....that he can go rounds.....that he has some capability to box and win rounds if needed. This whole camp here is a joke. They aren't trying to prepare this guy for a real title fight. They are just looking to cash him out and shield him from any shred of chance of losing until they do so. He should have went back to see Zelenoff for a rematch as even he hit Wilder and moved him. Not quite as much as the 400 pounder who floored Wilder and who got saved by the ropes, but Zelenoff still sent him flying. Put the UBF title up for grabs and Welliver will take Wilder to school. :box:

I see what you're saying, but to be fair, what kind of win streak is Mike Sheppard on?

Sheppard has no business fighting Wilder either.I was referring to Kronks insinuation that Chauncey would win.

So it is Jason Gavern. Wilder threw his usual tantrum after Dan Rafael posted that Gavern beat shot Toney.

Wilder is extremely sensitive and I find him and his ass-kissers quite annoying. He throws tantrums like this all the time when people don't suck up to him.

Rafael can be a dick, but what he posted was true and it wasn't contextually inappropriate.
