Stepping away from concentrating on Groves I hope Rebrasse gets some good paydays off the back of this. I think he would be a good learning fight for Callum Smith early next year.

He said he has real respect for Carl....
I think he meant well to be honest, just didnt portray it in the best of ways.... understandable after a tough fight.

Carl was accurate and respectful enough in his own thoughts in analysis .

Dirrell is not a fighter that Groves should be intimidated by.

Yeah I'd like to see Rebrasse get some fights against our guys. I have a feeling Smith would stop him.

No, but he's quick and he can punch.

lets not forget George did take some bombs off of Carl as well in that first fight.

I think Dirrell might hit harder than Carl though. He's certainly not as skilled as his brother but he's got the same kind of athleticism and he can punch. The latter in particular being George's weak point. He buzzed Bika up a fair few times and he's not a guy that gets hurt that easily. He also showed a good chin against Bika and never really looked hurt himself at any point.

So you pick Dirrell over Groves when it happens then?

Na, i'd fancy a draw.

I'd fancy Groves.

You'd pick?

Groves looked poor in many areas.

Bad accuracy, blowing, punches had no snap, poor game plan.

He's not the fighter he was.

Just watched the Groves fight, enjoyed it much more than I was expecting, decent test for Groves following a ko loss. Shame the undercard was so poo.

Decent enough fight, good comeback win for Groves against a light-hitting opponent.

There will be tougher tests to come for him, he definitely goes off too fast, he was blowing quite badly in the mid-late rounds and against bigger punchers that's where he becomes very vulnerable.

Overall though I enjoyed that fight, Abraham is the logical next step and he'll probably win that. Then we could have some real fun again, he should forget Froch now though, I feel like that's gone, I'm bored of it I'd like to see Froch in 1-2 more big fights then retire, while I'd like to see Groves now against other good fighters in the division to see where he's at.

I think Groves genuinely though he would get Rebrasse out of their in a couple rounds and that is why he started so quick, if he knew the guy would be so durable and take so few chances he would have came in with a different game plan and it would have been an easier night for him.

Can he beat Dirrell?
With Booth in his corner, YES
With Paddy in his corner, not so sure....

I actually though Paddy was good in the corner, a lot of what he was saying made sense, was accurate to the fight itself and he kept his composure.

Booth is massively over rated a s a trainer, Though admittedly Groves has looked less powerful since moving away from him.

Would Groves have been able to throw 950 punches with Booth in his corner and camp? i dont think so.

In the 3 main events last night i never gave the losers(Rebrasse,Ribchev and Dos Santos) a round

I try not to get bogged down with the negativity but Buglioni card might be the worst ive ever seen

Groves would have beaten Rebrasse if Daffy duck was in his corner, but he made it harder than it needed to be by using the wrong tactics.

Would groves have been able to throw 950 punches whilst working with Booth?

I'm sure he theoretically could have, but Booth would have had a proper game plan to win the fight far easier than yesterday.

He wouldn't have had to, booth would have made him calm down and pick his shots better.
I'm not saying paddy is a bad trainer, I just don't think he is the boxing guru he seems to believe he is
