Remember when folk thought Slick Eddie was the saviour of British boxing?

I mean we don't know who DeGale and Stephen Smith are fighting, but the undercard thus far surely can't be costing stupid money. The lower weight 'World' title fights can't be that much. And as I mentioned earlier, Bellew and Cleverly are surely gonna be on way less than the likes of Froch, Kessler and Groves have been in the last few PPV cards. Not professing to be an expert on purses but it wouldn't make sense to me if that was the case anyway. But maybe I am wrong.lefty wrote:Eddie's take on why it's PPV https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7_GFWxDh8TM
He said the same about the undercard for the first Froch Groves fight and that was dire.lefty wrote:Eddie's take on why it's PPV https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7_GFWxDh8TM
I agree wholeheartely with your if you don't lke it, don't buy' POV but how could the undercard be amazing given who is on the left side of the card?righthook wrote:Can't believe all the negativity about the ppv
People just jumping on the band wagon half the time!
Eddie hasn't even announced half the card yet and everyone's moaning. At least hear the full card and then have a go,
It's simple if u don't want to pay for it then just don't order it. The undercard could b amazing for all we know at least give it a chance to b announced

Aye, you've nailed it Gaz. It's not about don't like it dont buy it in this case. I'm already 'buying' it by paying a healthy fvcking sub to Sky to see some quality boxing. However what I get is a pile of left hand of the card wins and Scott Quigg 'World' title fights. Now I'm expected to fork out extra for a fight between two guys who couldn't cut it at light heavy in a reasonably parallel way so as to justify a rematch that few outside of the Bellew camp were calling for in the first place.Gazmac81 wrote:I know the old phrase if you dont like it dont buy it comes into Play
but for a fight like this you would expect to get it on your sky sports subscitption
The fact that half the fights haven't been announced isn't an indicator that they'll be quality. If half the undercard features boxers fighting TBA, then people aren't going to want to spend their money ordering the show. (Unless the main event is massive, which it isn't.)righthook wrote:Can't believe all the negativity about the ppv

He's added a James DeGale vs TBA fight. It's not like you can just put matches of that caliber on in a sports hall or shopping mall, and give it away on free-to-air TV, y'know....MarkMcBurney wrote:Hahahahahahaha.lefty wrote:Eddie's take on why it's PPV https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7_GFWxDh8TM
Couldn't put this show on without PPV.
Bollocks.
Its not as simple as don't like it don't buy it. Surely my paying £60 a month to sky is already buying it. I basically subscribe to skysports for football and boxing, when a big football match comes up I don't get an e-mail telling me it has been made box office and its and extra £20.righthook wrote:Can't believe all the negativity about the ppv

Agree. Bellew-Cleverly was a great fight first time around. It's going to be very competitive again.righthook wrote:Can't believe all the negativity about the ppv

That is quite a coup, that TBA has boxed quite exclusively for Frank W@rren recently so to get him on Sky Box Office suggests something of a sea-change.ILikeBeer wrote:He's added a James DeGale vs TBA fight. The first fight was free to air on allegedly, both were unbeaten, with a world title on the line. Since then both have been pasted in world title fights, done nothing noteworthy in their other fights, stuck 2 stone in weight on, now we have to pay £15 to watch the rematch, that there's no need for anyway. Massive head clash in the first round please, make sure everyone stupid enough to buy the PPV, wastes their money completely.mickey1975 wrote:Righthook is a mate of Boomers... Spot on. This "if you don't like it, then don't buy it" line doesn't wash because folk have already fecking paid and what are they getting in return?BillyTKid wrote:Its not as simple as don't like it don't buy it.
