If they add haye v Ustinov and Harrison v Briggs or slice them this becomes a Ppv event. But let's face it haye would want shed loads of money. He won't be on the bill and in the slightest chance he is it will be against some taxi driver from Latvia.

This is what people seem to be forgetting - Haye's smart enough to realise this PPV is likely to crash & burn so he won't want his usual large chunk of PPV sales, he'll want a large up front-fee instead, which Eddie won't want to pay as he'll also be worried about the PPV not selling & ending up out of pocket.

It'll be a miracle if Haye fights on this bill.

I guess it depends on how realistic haye is. He stank the joint out vs wlad and has withdrawn from three comeback fights so far, a supporting bout on a sky box office show in front of a packed crowd might be just what he wants - if he can flatten his opponent in style he's up and running again. I think he is smart enough to take a proportionately modest purse for this return bout. Plus, if the head of sky has asked him to get on the bill, it's probably a good idea to say yes. Haye has made millions from sky's ppv machine and will want to do so again in the future. It would be smart to keep the top man happy.

Ha ha yes that will be the reason for pulling the ppv but i cant see bellew pulling out of this he is so pumped up with hate for this guy so it would have to be cleverley

If Haye is going to make a comeback , he would be better off doing it on SKY Sports where he can hype up his comeback in front of a decent TV audience instead of a few hundred PPV buyers

Promoters are already benefiting hugely by "duping" much of the public by using alphabet titles to advertise a fight and make it seem bigger and better than it actually is. What more do they want? The see no evil, hear no evil attitude of the negligent boxing media enables them to do this without too many questions asked.

I'm surprised the usual suspects haven't piped up with: "It's just the way things are done/you can't fight the system/my editor wouldn't allow it/oh noes if I dare pipe up I might never get passes again/what if I piss off my mates?!?!?!" (delete as applicable).

This forum has changed since I used to post regularly highlighting the ills of Hearn's practices and getting regularly slighted for it. It seems like everyone has caught on and realised that the chosen one is not the saviour of British Boxing, I feel justified at present :)

According to Charles Sale in todays Sports Agenda he says head of SKY Sports Barney Francis has personally rung David Haye and George Groves encouraging them to be part of the Bellew PPV. Sale says it's unusual for SKY to demand extra money from subscribers for such a bout as Bellew v Cleverly hence the alleged involvement in Francis of beefing up the undercard.

It's only what everyone has been saying that this is not a PPV match or bill and if Groves and Haye are added no doubt it will be against TBA and no way a 50/50 meaningful match.

I'll say it again. If the public didn't buy the PPV then they would cease to exist. Sounds simple but its true.
