Let's be honest though, even if the ppv only achieved 2 buys im sure Eddie wouldnt admit this and would say it was a great success.

I wonder if Matchroom Fight Pass would eventually have the facility to air Matchroom fights online, perhaps at a time delay to protect Sky's business. Eg I'd still pay £5 to be able to access all the fights from 9am next morning.

It's clear that the PPV debate is the principle. Yes we can afford £17 but in the context of the existing satellite package costs, it's a flaming liberty. For ANY fight.

It's tough aswell because the streams are stop-start which makes your viewing experience not the best but you cant give in haha

I'm thinking maybe they could have a big sponsor involved, so instead of a punter paying £17 they have to collect a code from a 10-pack of Carlsberg which they enter to activate the channel. Carlsberg Fight Night is born

My mate just asked me what I was doing for the big fight.
I told him i would be staying up for the algieri fight.
Then when he explained he meant the british level cruiserweight bout on PPV I went on a rant about why it should be boycotted.

He had been planning on getting it and I think i've talked him out of it. Part of me is happy i've landed another blow on hearn but part of me feels like i've missed a trick, i could have gone over to his and watched it and kept my £17 for beer.

Sounds to me like Cleverly just wasn't really up for it. Even with him throwing sod all during the fight, Bellew didn't really put a dent in him.

Unless he was injured, I think Clev should call it a day, showed zero desire in there.

i stayed strong, didn't buy it, I can afford it, I'm sure many can if they really wanted. But a buy for this is a vote for letting Eddie rip us off again and again in the future. this aint PPV, never, bunch of one-sided matches and one half decent main event aint gona have me shelling £17 to sit at home and watch it.

Don't think either man has a real future at top level. Bellew has a sitting target for a lot of that fight, and he didn't come close to stopping Cleverly.

On the bright side, even the casuals will see what a sh!tty card that was & will be fuming over nearly 20 quid down the drain...PPV has lost a hell of a lot of credibility tonight, hooray.

Bellew average, Cleverly needs to get a job and stop doing boxing.

I said previously that I would refuse to buy this & I haven't relented; I didn't buy it.

I vowed never to by a PPV again after Audley Harrison's pathetic performance against Haye & then Haye himself turning into Bambi with a sore hoof against Wladimir not too long after that.

So far I have resisted & it's probably only a genuine & competitive superfight that would get me to break my boycott, although I should still be wary as I thought Klitschko -v- Haye was going to be a competitve superfight!

It was as we all predicted - a poor PPV but a standard Saturday night card on Sky Sports.

The fights just weren't competitive enough and to be honest, the calibre of fighters Matchroom has for these under-cards just aren't exciting enough or aren't allowed(bar a handful of contests) to be in with fighters that might make an exciting contest of it.

Seems they are getting protected to the point that as soon as they do have to step up, they'll not be ready. Quigg for example. Sorry if the Callum Smith performance was fantastic, I didn't watch that fight. Only AJ looks to be on the right track.
