What happened with Troy James anyway...i thought he turned pro being managed by Barry McGuigan and boxed on a bunch of matchroom shows (pre-Eddie)?

I agree with all of your post but when you mention Troy going a different route imo that would be very hard to do unless he can get a big sponsor! He has a final eliminator with Joe Murray, that is a fight he can win and then the champion will have to face him no matter who he or his promoter is. If Troy can win the British he will then have a strong hand for deciding things!!

Many did lee fight? I don't understand how someone who has only ever made championship weight in his pro debut fight for a title, he took 3 Attempts to make 9"6 ffs, that's safe from the board, surely the purpose of an eliminator aswell is to see if they can make weight, not making 9"6 day before is worrying, fair enough being tight for 9"4 etc , having to fight 3 top 10 fighters just to get a crack at the title is what most do as 3 title defences

I understand what you are trying to say about Troy's eliminators but the Evans fight is a voluntary defence and Craig has decent pedigree in the amateurs and is unbeaten as a pro. I don't agree with the Walsh vs Evans fight but voluntary defences are part of boxing so there isn't much Troy can do except beat Joe Murray and force the winner of Walsh vs Evans to fight him next for the belt.

I don't believe Walsh has actually chosen this fight. I think Warren has told him he has to take this fight. Be interesting to see if this actually comes off. Couldn't imagine why Walsh would take that risk. Evans style is a bit awkward I think will cause massive problems for Walsh. Plus I seen close up how good his chin is. I actually will put my neck out and say Evans will beat Walsh if this fight is to happen. I agree with Jamie though Warren is just positioning his fighters.. Murray is the next one he wants to get a shot.. In fairness good management for these boys but very unfair

David I see Liam beating Craig Evans pretty comfortably, he can box and punches pretty hard and as we seen last time out he can do the weight and still perform effectively. Craig on the other hand really struggled for 9st 6lb and imo he will be weak at 9st 4lb.

I see Liam stopping Craig in the late rounds, you seen how much he hated the body shots from Ronnie and his camp will know that too and target the body early before hurting him with head shots. If Ronnie had another couple of rounds he would have had Craig in massive trouble imo.

Murray's not with Warren anymore, makes it even more confusing as to how he got the eliminator.

I agree with David's thoughts on the fight, while I think Evans can do the weight, it will be tough and in all honesty, along with Stephen Smith, Walsh is a level above everyone else domestically, I'm a little bit surprised he's defending the title, thought he would move on to European and World level after beating Sykes.

I'm going on Walsh v Murray. Liam struggled against a good technical boxer.. Craig is very skilled. I do agree though if Craig doesn't do the weight right he will be stopped

Different styles though mate, Joe likes to box at range with accurate punches. Craig on the other hand likes to throw flurries with no power!! I really can't see Craig make the weight any different because he didn't seem bothered about how he was doing it in London, he seemed more annoyed that he wasn't being allowed to weigh over and he had to take off ounces.

The board don't know anything About the walsh defending against evans, strange from allegedly announcing. Fight before it's sanctioned or the board have any knowledge,

It's Walsh Volutary defence, both fighters with Warren so easy to make, it's a win, win situation for Warren has he keeps hold of title what ever happens, for now

I emailed Robert smoth Asked for an example Of 3 eliminators in recent times to which he had no answer, also asked how Someone who has only ever made super feather on his pro debut in 14 fights have a title fight to which he replied that no fight has even been mentioned to the board and all aspects would be looked at , although I believe it will still happen as they are puppets on a string for the promotors

There aren't any, doesn't mean it can't happen though.

There are plenty of examples of fighters fighting for titles without making the weight previously though.

The BBBoC way around the 3 eliminators is that It doesn't state anywhere a limit (max/min) on how many eliminators they can make you face.

Robert Smith replied to a email and has said that they didn't count Troy Vs Male has a eliminator has they thought it would just help the show has having that has a headline bout.
Great to know the board are into making eliminators & helping promoters/shows & doing things like that, I didn't know that was there job/role/place ?

It doesn't matter now anyway, what's done is done and we are just gonna play ball and be sly, caniving and two faced like 98% of everyone else that involved in boxing & it's bull sh it politics & business side.

All we can do is keep working hard, chipping away & beating people like we are doing & hopefully one day there be forced/shamed into doing the right thing, we shall see, onwards & upwards

Wat a load of crap from the board. Why did they sanction the fight then as a eliminator on the notices then. After all the midlands title was on the line for chris and troy. As a masters or area title fight that was a good enough fight on paper top a small hall show with their records as both lads had just fallen short in English title bids.

He only won the belt against Sykes, he's had the Commonwealth for years, I would assume the plan is for a quick defense against Evans, get the mandatory out of the way, then a voluntary to get the belt outright, then move onto European and world level.
