I don't think Wilder is going to have an easy fight, but I do believe he will get the win. Both men know its a KO fight and both will be looking for it from round one. Wilder will find Stiverne is like nobody he has ever fought before because he is fighting in a higher league but I believe he belongs there and will prove that tomorrow night. IMO its a 50/50 fight that either man could win but Wilders reach for me gives him the edge. If Wilder lands on Stiverne enough I think ultimately he will find the finishing punch. I think Stiverne will go in round 6 or 7. If Wilder wins HW boxing will come alive again.

I can see Wilder blasting him out early.

WBC heavyweight titlist Bermane “Bware” Stiverne, a resident alien from Haiti and Canada who’s seeking U.S. citizenship, allegedly created a bizarre, ugly incident at a recent UFC cage-fighting card in Las Vegas, swearing at and threatening former WBC bantamweight champion Wayne McCullough and his wife Cheryl, who were also in the stands.

McCullough posted a narrative on Facebook, charging Stiverne and his seatmates with verbally abusing and menacing the McCulloughs when there was a mix-up in seating arrangements. Their daughter Wynona McCullough was seated with her parents.

“Someone from the UFC asked us to move three seats down so TV could interview the family of a fighter who was in the octagon,” explained McCullough.

“During one of the rounds the guy who had been sitting beside Cheryl disruptively came back to our row and told her to move because she was sitting in his seat. She tried to explain to him that she couldn’t go anywhere because someone was sitting in her seat but he began to continually yell ‘Get the F out of my seat, MOVE ALONG.’

“No one speaks to my wife like that, so as he was forcing her to stand up — while the fight was still going on — I stood up to tell him that we were going to move as soon as we were able. He started yelling at me ‘I’ll F you up, I’ll F you up.’ Wrong place. Wrong time. Wrong person! I told him to go ahead and try, but by this point he was sitting in his seat while Cheryl was left standing.”

Finally, the employee from the UFC who’d asked Cheryl to temporarily give up her seat retrieved the McCulloughs’ original front-row seats, recalled McCullough, but “the guy [Stiverne] continued to mumble about us so Cheryl wouldn’t give up. He then told her to ‘shut the F up’ while his friend said, ‘You don’t know who you’re messing with!’ Cheryl said, ‘Yes I do, but you don’t know who you’re messing with.’”

McCullough makes it clear in the post that the mumbling, threatening lout was in fact Stiverne. “He obviously treats everyone like that because he didn’t know he was talking to another WBC world champion,” said McCullough. He said Stiverne “obviously expects everyone to fall at his feet because he’s a big guy.”

McCullough, 44, known as “the Pocket Rocket” when he competed professionally, is an Olympic medalist who won the WBC title in 1995. He lost his belt to Daniel Zaragoza two years later by split decision. McCullough was trained by the late, Eddie Futch and now works as a trainer himself. He and Stiverne, 36, both live in Las Vegas. Stiverne, 24-1-1 (21 KOs), won the vacant WBC title with a 6th round stoppage of Chris Arreola on May 10 in Los Angeles.

McCullough, originally from Northern Ireland, competed for Ireland when he took silver in the 1992 Olympics and refused to be a part of the centuries-old sectarian feud that divides Protestants and Catholics in his homeland. He was named the first WBC Ambassador for Peace and Goodwill in Sports. I’ve known him for years as a solid, utterly credible individual.

Stiverne, born in Haiti, has also resided in Montreal. I tried to reach him through his promoter, Don King Productions. No one at the company was willing to discuss the alleged incident. Among the requirements in the application for U.S. citizenship is “good moral character.”

Stiverne’s team is currently negotiating with mandatory contender Deontay Wilder. Wilder is represented by boxing kingpin Al Haymon. Negotiations with King are never easy, and no world-class heavyweight has ever secured a fight against Wilder.

McCullough, who’s stayed in shape, weighs about 130. Stiverne weighed in at just under 240 against Arreola.

Interesting reading. Which coupled with Wilder's domestic assault fracas and his over zealous Charlie Z behaviour makes it hard to support either. Shame as Wilder's daughter story is compelling. And a film-in-waiting if he wins.

Bear in mind, that article is only Wayne's side of the story, and I recall his wife Cheryl is a pretty ferocious character who traded insults with the best of them as her hubby's manager; she probably really laid into Stiverne, who seems a pretty laid back character.

Wilder's legs are unbelievably thin, my thighs are probably close to 18" and I'm 5'9 and pretty thin, calves are small too.

I mentioned Wilder's legs earlier in the thread...normally I don't pay much attention to fighters' legs but Wilder's are unusually skinny.

Yeah. Immediately I got the impression from the story that McCulloughs wife (who clearly wears the pants) was pissed at being moved from her seat. When Stiverne came and said "This seat is mine" which I imagine was said politely and respectfully because he would have no reason to be a prick to a random woman in his seat, that Cheryl gave him a bit of attitude since she was a bit pissed already. This pissed Stiverne off and set him off, and in my opinion he had every right to expect to sit in his own seat. It's not his fault that other people got removed. Stand up instead of sitting in someone elses seat!! McCullough obviously had to back up his wife, I've been i a similar position with an ex girlfriend who always managed to get me into an argument with a random bloke or two on a night out, even when she was totally in the wrong. I knew that if I didn't back her up (which happened one time), I wasn't going to be getting laid that night and would have to listen to her droning on about how I "didn't stand up for her"!

As far as I'm concerned the mcculloughs were bang out of order for sitting in someone elses seats and then refusing to get up when asked (this is what wayne said - cheryl was refusing to get up from the seat).

I only wrote so much on this because I think Stiverne was being badly character assasinated. McCullough and his I believe angry wife were absolutely bang out of order to take someone elses seats and expect them to stand in my opinion.

All of what I've just written is only my opinion though. Pure speculation. But I think this is the way it went down. If you watch Stiverne in interviews pre fight week, he's respectful and seems like a nice guy.

Agree completely, even coming from her husband ( "The guy continued to mumble, so Cheryl wouldn't give it up") it sounds like she was causing the "ugly incident" - then Wayne has his house trained "journalist" refer to Stiverne as a lout. ...

Stiverne looks like he worked out down the pub, Wilder has legs like matchsticks, welcome to the athletes of world title professional boxing

This affirms that any reasonable person would move from the seat that they're weren't mean to be sitting in, it's just a case of Cheryl gobbing off again

He probably didn't tell him to move, he probably said something along the lines of 'excuse me, do you mind, that is my seat?' And of course, most people would be fine with it.

I was told to move once by some little fella on a BMi flight to London and he was told 'aren't you a rude little man?' but in this case, I suspect Stiverne wouldn't be so rude as to tell a woman to get the fornicate out of his seat.

I set mine to record the HD channel with no problems. I'm on Sky, it takes me to a box office style purchase page whenever I want to record a live fight on BN HD, although there's no actual purchase cost for subscribers.

I know people comment on Wilder's legs being thin, but i met the guy a couple of years ago. I'm 6ft 5" and 17.5st, i would say my hands are relative to my size, but next to Wilders mine looked like kids hands.

It's no surprise that when he hits, people drop. His speed and power is immense. He was a thoroughly nice bloke too.

It's a misconception that long skinny people can't take a shot and short stocky no neck people can. Plenty of skinny fighters have held a great shot and plenty of squat powerful looking fighters have had chins made of the finest China. There's no set body shape that leads to a great chin, they come in all shapes and sizes.

It's not Wilders legs that bother me, it's the footage of him getting poleaxed as an amateur that bothers me!
