Tijuana1 boxed on Sky, Box office and a few high profile shows. It's worrying they never even took a piss test.

I keep seeing a habit on here when ever a question is asked rather than answer it.its immeadiatly met with a barrage of questions,
If you will post something that is blatently not true as tho its a fact you got to expect to be questioned The two tests a show is blatently not true ,If you had turned round and said they are following the same drugs procedure as the bbbofc then fair enough.
Iv been to a number of mbc hows a couple actualy very well ran and the drugs people were not there full stop the reason you know this is they do not leave the persons side all night and sit ringside when the person is boxing and are very easy to spot.
to answer the other question that might come my way.I probably know personally at least 50 or 60 pro boxers who have had multiple drugs tests.
You cant make a statement then when people who might know what they are on about ask a question to verify straight away start firing back with questions about background, just answer the question and if they make a statement feel free to question it.If they dont make a statement then feel free to engage them in conversation.
Every time the shutters go up a question is asked it just doesnt look good.

Drug tests are quite expensive they are only mandatory for 12 round title fights and usualy the random ones are with some kind of info behind them. The lower level guys dont get bothered unless they are suspected.

Yeah knew they're very expensive. Do they even do them on the amateurs? I've never witnessed them on amateurs.

Who is judging them based on drug their drug testing policy? At the moment we don't know what it is, just that some people are making claims that are untrue regarding 2 boxers tested on every show.
I understand that you are a BBBofC registered boxer - can I ask you a couple of questions ?
How long have you been involved in pro boxing ?
Have you ever been drug tested ?
How many pro boxers do you personally know who have been drug tested ?
9 years.
No.

To clarify
I was asked the question on facebook in regards to drug testing and wasnt 100% sure on the answer.
I asked Gianluca , and was told they have an association with WADA through their ties with the Malta Sports association.
And when i asked who gets tested the response was that "all title bout competitors are tested and we do random tests on 2 guys if theres no title bouts".
At no point did he say that WADA carried out those random tests, nor did he say what was being tested for. In fact although it does sound like it was meant, theres also no mention that the random tests are carried out on all shows.
Its not difficult to do tests for basic things, i even did them on unlicensed shows. Basic Urine tests, test for all the basic stuff, but wont be much use for the harder to detect substances.
Sometimes people need to learn to read between the lines and stop jumping the gun.

Can Gianluca explain exactly what happens then? It isn't very clear. Who does the drug testing and what is the frequency. The Malta Sports Association don't exist, or at least they are not registered or recorded anywhere on the internet. WADA do not have them listed as an organisation that they deal with and actually only do AIBA and another amateur association that have no link to Malta. I'm awaiting a reply from UKAD.

I dont see where your bringing UKAD into it, MBC havent mentioned any link to them, so a bit of a pointless exercise isnt it.

Has anybody been involved in a proper drugs test? its a very careful procedure with lots of paper work and samples to make sure there is no contamination or four play. There has to be three guys from the drug testing place 1 too do each boxer and one to over see. There are sealed containers and multiple test tubes so the boxer has the pick of the one he wants to use.
Wada and ukad do all this as they are renowned and used world wide.
Are you trying to tell me some guy doing his own test after a fight or somebody telling us they do two tests a show but then when people assume its obviously one of the worldwide organisations but then get told we are jumping the gun because we didnt stop to ask if it was the promoter or somebody at the show doing it and then testing it?
Is this for real and what happens if the promoter comes back and says right that test had something in it your banned the boxer is going to tell him to piss off and say wheres your proof.
I honestly cant beleive what iv just read. Nobody who has witnessed or been part of a proper drug test would dare try and come up with that stuff seriously cmon.
Theres obviously no drug testing, no biggie its a new organsation! coming up with stuff like theres 2 random tests a show then trying to defend it by saying we didnt actualy say its done by qualified people ,they could be doing it themselves with a chemist brought drug kit.
I am honestly not going to comment on this again its daft

I'm bringing UKAD into it as they are the recognised organisation in the UK and if the MBC want to be taken seriously they should consider use them. WADA were mentioned by a previous poster as being linked to the testing process via a connection with an organisation that dont appear to exist. Any other form of testing is going to be flawed. If the MBC want to be considered as being on par or competitive with the board they are going to have to use recognised testing agents, with a systematic and forensically sound drug testing process.
JonP has hit the nail on the head. The lack of any accurate answer at best further demonstrates the naivety of the MBC and I can't take them seriously. Two tests per show!!! Ha ha!

This whole thread is just nuts!
without knowing the full facts (and using hearsay and innuendo rather than facts) people are trying to use anything as an excuse to beat up the MBC whilst again completely ignoring what the BBBofC allow to happen.
It was the Board who licensed Larry O for years. Now, I am in no way medically qualified but just looking at fella should have raised alarm bells that a test was in order.
In the unlikely event that people thought he looked that way after eating 3 Shredded Wheat a day should have just had a look on the UKs biggest bodybuilding forum where Larry was an active member and posted under his known nickname "War Machine" (the same name he used to post on this forum).

Oh dear Jon....
For someone so experienced you dont half seem to get all this round your neck and over complicate things...
He blatantly said that no one has said any particular method of testing and that he therfore couldnt expand further.
But because your getting so would up and are too much pro the bbboc rather than seeing any other view, its meaning your coming up with things that simply werent said.
You make up your own accusations, lets just see what actually happens eh, instead of insinuating we know when we actually dont fully know.
You know what bbboc does, like i would expect you to. But until things grow we dont in all honesty know what to expect in the long run from MBC. sports evolve and move with the times, deal with it... because it appears MBC are here to stay.
Gianluca obviously reads these threads, so if you really wanted to discredit MBC your best bet would be to stay quiet, as lets face it, hes going to undoubtedly use what he reads on here.
So id guess the Testing system will be ironed out and then offered as proof as to why MBC arent any different to BBBoC. Everything written on here will in the end only strengthen MBC, leaving the neigh sayers looking a bit daft.

If UKAD aren't doing the claimed two tests per show, then they're being done by MBC/Promoter, as Damien said he used to do drug testing on unlicensed shows. Essentially they are then a complete waste of time because unless the proper procedure is followed it will be impossible to enforce the results of the tests.
I'd give them 5 years max before the money runs out and they fade away, there's no way any of the promoters are making money unless the shows are filled with EBF fights and I'm sure Luca has admitted he's been using his own money to subsidise the running of MBC. Long term they'll go nowhere.
In other news MBC are now sanctioning Northern Ireland and Celtic titles.

Gianluca would be better off just providing straight answers to straight questions if he reads these posts. Jonp is simply staring things the way they are and I agree with him 100% (for what its worth). All he is saying is the MBC can't be taken seriously until they start to behave and are transparent.
No one us saying the bbbofc are perfect.
The previous poster is optimistic. I'll give the MBC two years tops.
Time will tell who is going to look foolish.

Im not trying to discredit any one except when people talk complete bollocks, discrediting mbc is more people saying that two random tests are done each show in writing on here it was said when this is shown to be complete and utter bollocks you go in to the oh look insinuating picking lies out.
simple if you dont want things picked apart by people who know what they are on about dont put them on a public board and then cry when its pointed out that it cant possibly work like that.
If mbc is done properly hen i would be a fan iv been to shows have you??
But when people say something merely to sound like they know whats going and that things are being done correctly and it turns out to be quite easily shown to be either
a.shoddy the promoter is doing his own intracate drugs tests using a chemist kit
b. A lie as the tests are not being done yet
then by emphasising this and putting it out there on a public forum you are making it look micky mouse.
Let them get on with it and learn before you keep putting facts that have no basis out in the public domain and then moaning when questioned about it.
This is my main problem with it not the shows or the boxing or the other organsistion but the fact people are putting crap out there as fact and in the end it makes it look like boxing as a whole hasnt got a clue. I dont want the mbc to look shoddy and be pulled apart by facts because to the normal man in the street he thinks pro boxing is all one and if he reads this heel think that drug testing is done by the promoter with a chemist kit or that promoters are allowed to referee there own shows or other such stuff i keep seeing.
I know rio and id be happy to sit down and put all these questions to him in person in fact i may well do when im next at a show.

Bri as i stated earlier every time a question is asked on a topic brought up instead of debating it and answeing and proving the questions wrong or even educating them it becomes this.
ie a promoter saying the mbc are doing two random tests per show. A few questions were asked how is this possible
And instead of answering actualy how is it possible to have two random tests per show as stated by a promoter as straight from the head honcho and proving why it is possible and showing the questioner the relevant facts and proof it becomes the above but look what the bbbofc did and why are you trying to discredit people

As it is the board will 100% not let any license holder of any category take part in or have anything to do with MBC shows and its not going to change anytime soon.

I agree he would be better off providing the answers directly himself... But he has done previously and got a barrage of abuse, and to be fair and equal, the BBBoC do not do this themselves.
In fact Maybe Gianluca would be better off not answering anything at all, like the board, maybe being open to answering questions is just opening himself up to the firing line.
But dont say they have to be transparent to be taken seriously, because so far the MBC are far more open than the BBBoC have ever been.

Well that was a pointless email then that Gianluca received and shared on facebook.
Way i understood at the time, was as long as the opponent isnt someone who the board would reject for their own shows (ie had license removed or turned down etc) then the board wouldnt have grounds to reject as per their own rules.

Quote from it :
add to the regulation 4.12b - " a promotion organised by a another controlling authority with prior written consent of the BBBoC, such consent not to be unreasonably withheld, having regard to that controlling authorty's rules, regulations and standards, the safety of the participants and those in attendance, and in the interest of Boxing and the public interests, if consent is given it will be on condition of the payment of a fee, to be decided by the board"
So i dont see on what grounds to decline except for those i stated ,ie previously been turned down by the board for a license or had it withdrawn , or maybe they are too old, baring in mind the board do turn people down to box on their shows for that reason, so i see no reason that wouldnt apply to someone being sanctioned to box elsewhere against that sort of opponent, if i was the promoter id expect to be turned down in those circumstances. .... They cant say its not in the interest of boxing... Being allowed to box and earn a living is in the interest of boxing, seems to me its more like that its not in the BBBoC's interest... which isnt what their rules are stating.
