This is great news. Remember also there are other free view ITV channels - ITV2 etc. So they don't need to only put the big fights on the main channel.

By the way, apart from Frampton, who does Barry promote? Any names?

Your totally right. The undercard of Frampton vs Avalos is being shown live on ITV4. Plenty of options for ITV plus money to invest in sport after losing the FA Cup to the BBC and European football to BT.

It would be more entertaining for sure, most mismatchroom fights go no more than 6 rounds anyway!

"Would you consider signing up to an alternative broadband supplier if they provided live boxing coverage?"

Wonder if they've got something in the works?

The 'something in the works' should be more shows added to the schedule. I am really surprised they're content with one show a fortnight on average for jan and feb. I know it's been Xmas, and I know March is looking good but it's been a poor start to the year.

How about Randy Caballero's first title defence?

Why not show Peter McDonagh (a allegedly regular) out in Malta?

Let some cracking bills in March/April that do not look to be secured up yet.

If you watched Bunce's Boxing Hour on Thursday (it was on Thursday this week for some reason) he said that there should be some news regarding their international content soon!

Hopefully this means they will be showing some of Haymons PBC cards from NBC and Spike!

If allegedly fail to get the contract to any of these cards, I will have to have a hard look at my subscription to them.

If Mayweather vs Pacman goes ahead and allegedly gets the contract for their fight then fair enough. However, if they do not, and they also fail to get any of Haymons shows, their international content is going to be severely limited! I dont know, Zou Shiming just doesn’t get my blood going!

That is the clearest sign they will affiliated with BT Sport yet.

BT have gargantuan pockets, and all the sports and stuff is part of the end goal : To get your broadband.

The current situation where Sky are a supplier for all things TV, will be over in a few short years. Sound crazy but's it is going to happen.

Internet is already providing higher quality video images today, than Sky are transmitting (up to 4K but generally 1080p vs 1080i) and soon the Sky box / dish array will be made completely redundant, especially with the advent of Smart TV's.

Sky have tried to get on the bandwagon with NowTV but the images are poor, the selection has a few good current releases but generally there is no depth like Netflix (which has the entire Breaking Bad, Sons of Anarchy, Dexter etc series on it) and it's also heftily priced.

TV is all about "on demand" now, the only except is live sports - so if BT swallow that up, it's game over for Sky.

People are probably are probably thinking "No, Sky are too big etc" but they have missed the boat. Just like when fleet street dismissed their £20k a year IT guy who suggested they develop their web presence more in the late 90's. Now most newspapers are dead. Satellite and cable boxes will be cassette players v.soon.
