Since the Bellew-Cleverly PPV, my opinion on Eddie has changed. I used to give him a chance and listen to his pitch. Now if I'm honest, I know his pitch and find him smarmy beyond belief.

Maybe it's overkill because he is so in your face now on the media side of the British boxing scene - press releases every week or so, IFL interviews every week, Ringside for a little wink here and there, Twitter every day/hour, every sky card he's walking around like something out of TOWIE with his fake tan and new suit on etc.

The whole Matchroom/Sky boxing situation drives me mad. Lack of shows mainly. How can they send Adam, Johnny and team over to the states for a week (think it was last Khan fight? Must cost a fortune), constantly talk about big fights coming up in the general boxing world(on ringside) then show us a Prizefighter and the other crap coming up? Rant over.

I have a lot of respect for Eddie, he has an excellent stable of fighters, and a great blend of new talent with title/fringe boxers. His error, as many others are pointing out, is the terrible mismatches that we see over and over again. Rather than have 7 great names on a card, I would take far 2 or 3 in well matched fights. That Clev Vs Bellew card was an utter joke, there is no interest in 95/5 matches.

In boxing there is far more protection of the '0' these days. In the past you would have to fight your way through other challengers, but now we have promoters exploiting the terrible rankings systems that each organization has. I don't care if a boxer is 22-10 and wins a title, just as long as he has earned it.

Warren put out Chisora Vs Fury and Saunders Vs Eubank Jr a week after that utter debacle, which also had a cracker in Walsh Vs Skykes earlier on in the night. These are the fights we like - 60/40 or 50/50 fights. He can learn a lot from Warren. Sure, he has made a lot of mistakes over the year, but he also understands that a loss on a record doesn't define a boxer. A minuscule amount of boxers will go through a career without losing. A lot of Hearn's boys will get found out soon enough, Quigg perhaps being the main one to fall once a good opponent is put in front of him.

Eddie gets a couple of bonus points today,

Limmond vs Chris Jenkins - Wales vs Scotland.

It's a good scrap. Would love to see them in the mix with Bradley Saunders and Jack Caterall.
