This is my opinion based on the fact that this fight is already being widely reported in the general sports media as a mega fight, taking into consideration the American PPV prices that gave been announced, rounded down a bit for the UK market to a round sum figure.

As the UK prices have not yet been announced, unless you have some insider knowledge then to describe this opinion as "garbage" without any information that indicates the contrary provides a reasonable indication of your intelligence.

I think my opinion, when backed by someone like Leforge (no doubt you will have no idea of the posters knowledge) is pretty valid compared to a clueless guesser like yourself!

At the moment the prices haven't been released, so how one person can say another persons guess is bollox when their own opinion in based on nothing more than conjecture is a little strange, however increasingly common in the world of the internet where some people like to portray that they have some knowledge or information even though they don't.

The figure seems a bit pie in the Sky.

Mayweather having the final say could bode well for B0xnati0n. SKY haven't broadcast a Mayweather fight since his outing against Mosley back in 2010. His last 5 fights have been on B0xnati0n. Of course money is Floyd's biggest motivator so instinctively I thought he'd go with SKY Box Office however maybe it's not that simple.

SKY Box Office, like B0xnati0n, is available on SKY, Virgin Media and Talk Talk so both channels have the same potential reach customer wise on TV. B0xnati0n however has a streaming service, run by Livesport.TV, which makes the channel pretty much accessible to everyone in the UK with broadband. Also I wouldn't be surprised if B0xnati0n finally turns up on BT in the coming weeks giving it slightly more reach on TV than SKY Box Office. B0xnati0n have now had their PPV model in place for a year, set at £30.00 for a whole weekend pass. Way over and above the usual SKY Box Office price, pretty extortionate if you ask me, however at weekends on Twitter and Facebook during big fights on the channel people do post about using the service.

So where would B0xnati0n find the money to buy the rights? They'll probably look to raise funds from the good old tried and tested £8.00 sign up fee to the channel on SKY for new and returning customers. A carriage deal to have the channel on the BT platform would also raise a bit of revenue. Pushing the £30 PPV model on pubs, clubs and casinos for the fight could be an earner. Charging existing customers a few pounds extra, as suggested in the Daily Mail recently, would help a bit and of course Bill Ives isn't short of a bob or two.

From the outset I thought this fight was likely going to be on SKY Box Office however I think the tinpot channel that is B0xnati0n might just have a fighting chance to pull off the upset. Whoever gets the fight doesn't make a bit of difference to me, I'll be buying it regardless with friends and family round. A lot of my mates aren't boxing fans, but they've already been asking if I'll be getting this fight and hosting a wee shindig. Can't wait.

Mayweather won't care which of Sky or B0xnati0n shows the fight. It'll make no difference to him, his team will just go for the channel offering most money.

Yeah seems very high, at £25 a pop they would have to sell 480,000 just to get the £12 mil back. I can't see that many buys when it on at 4am

I think Sky will get it and charge £24.95. They may even charge £29.95, but £24.95 is more likey.

They wont be able to keep it at £19.95. Not when bidding for the TV rights is red hot.

Poor guess work article - no quotes or anything the usual crap from the mail.
I suspect Sky will get it if they haven't already done so but we probably won't know for a few weeks yet I'm assuming.

I wonder if BT might consider bidding for the rights and showing it on their regular channels as a kind of loss leader?

Perhaps they could parlay interest in the fight by offering it free to BT sport subscribers who have, say, two or three months on their accounts? Perhaps, at the margin between buying BT and not buying BT, people might take the jump to subscribing if it meant getting the fight, while the margin between not buying the PPV and buying it, they would if they knew they were getting three month's of BT Sports thrown into the package.

Might help their subscriber numbers, because if they have a genuinely good product on offer, people who have it for three months, might say WTF when it comes for renewal and just continue paying.
