give it a rest.
and troy waters fighting weight has no bearing on what geale should or should not do.
he is carrying a bit buster, should look great at that weight though
Buster, hav a look at a photo of geale, that should be enough to tell you he will make 157 with ease
fighting for over 10 years mostly at the weight and all of a sudden he's carrying a bit?
hilarious!

Geale has a legitimate chance of ruining Cotto's plans. This is a high risk low reward fight. Cotto should've taken a big money fight instead.

Sure hope Geale proves you right on that.

Cotto 1.35 Geale 4.00
These odds should have fans of the push punching Tasmanian pretty excited.
Geale needs to be seriously competitive in this one to stay relevant on the world scene.

Getting to be Cotto's opponent for the WBC title is a clear demonstration Geale is relevant on the world scene. Ring have Geale at #4 middleweight contender behind Cotto

Geale's last four bouts against Fletcher and Wood and losses to Golovkin and Barker doesn't give much creedence
to the Ring's number 4 ranking.
BoxRec generously ranks him at number 7.
Fightnews rates him at a more realistic 13 ahead of David Lemieux and Martin Murray.
Both of whom I believe would have his measure.
The Cotto fight will be a moment of truth for Geale.

If you are Ring #4 and fighting for a WBC title you are "relevant."
If Geale beats Cotto he will be a whole lot more than relevant. He will have won WBA, IBF and WBC world titles

Anyone knew how much Geale is being paid? Will he asked for the Aussie PPV?

Looking at Cottos last fight where he was the challenger.
http://www.boxingnews24.com/2014/06/pur ... 5-million/
At a guesstimate I would say 300-400k + Aussie PPV. Cottos obviously the draw.

This fight will be similar to Cotto's fight with Rodriguez IMO, he will stop Geale quickly.

You would have to think it would be near impossible for Geale to stop Cotto and being in Cotto's backyard i don't think Geale will get the benefit of the doubt if there are close rounds. This is exactly why Geale is a $5 chance and rightly so.

There were similar thoughts expressed by some when Geale journeyed to Germany, twice, and both times returned with titles.

True but their was no mega fight on the horizon for Sylvester or Sturm like their is for Cotto(Canelo).

It would be no shock at all if geale was to ko cotto.
despite not being a big puncher, the size advantage and the fact cotto has been in plenty of very physical bouts may work in geale's favour moreso than people expect.
I hope geale is relentless from the very start.

And similar to his fight with GGG

Mentioning or implying Cotto and Sylvester are similar situations is embarrassing

Stopping Garth Woods is one thing but stopping Cotto

Geale twice travelled to Germany. Beating reigning champions Sylvester & Sturm in "their own backyard" and where "people didn't think Geale would the get the benefit of the doubt" and Geale returned with both their titles.
That you don't seem to value those two performances by Geale is embarrassing.

Sylvester & Sturm were both defending their world title belts in front of their German home crowd. To suggest they gave anything less than 100% is a big call. Regardless of who they would be fighting next.
