British boxing fans need allegedly, the Brook v Gavin bout shouldn't cost extra - to think the Provodnikov v Lucas is on next week.

I'm intending to go but must admit I'm concerned about what time this will finish and getting away from the Arena.
Anyone any experience of the O2 - good or bad ?
Seen comments about Warren's show there but would sooner hear it from the horse's mouth of posters on here.

Last tube on a Saturday night is about 1am.

The show cant finish after 11:30pm as the o2 Arena has a curfew. For every minute you go over it's a £1,000 so I wouldnt worry about that.

It's actually pretty easy to get away, and they have a decent system with crowd management and the underground.

It's a doddle to get away from, tubes run until late, bars open all around the arena. Been to 3 concerts there, stayed in various parts of London and never had an issue with tubes. Far easier than say Wembly or the emirates

I got the thames clipper for froch/kessler. The boat left 15 minutes after the main event.

I got the clev vs bellew fight. I won't be getting this one.

You don't need to mate. Just keep the sky box and use the NOW TV for day passes when you fancy a fight night and if something is box office, just buy that independently as you do not need Sky Sports package to do that. You just need a dish and the receiver.

I drove; parked in the official Car park at the arena which cost about 15 quid and got away dead easy.

For a moment I thought this was a good card for a Sky/Matchroom event. Then I saw it was PPV. I won't pay extra for this an agree with the comments about the general quality of the cards getting worse. What is wrong with showing some genuinely 50/50 fights even if the guys aren't top class? An entertaining fight is all I'm asking for.

Steve Goodwin puts on good cards with 50/50 fights, the boxers are not yet household names but are game as badgers.

So, for example. Simmons v Jon Lewis Dickinson. Tyrone Nurse v Dave Ryan. John Wayne Hibbert v Dave Ryan and Tyler Goodjohn. Ricky Boylan v Goodjohn and Tommy Martin. You then have fights that have fallen through like Jenkins v Limmond which would have been a cracker on tonights card. You're making out like every single card is head to toe with KO1 crap.

I accept there have been some good fights and perhaps I did come across as being a bit harsh. But there have been far too many fights on which were dull or clear mis-matches. My main point, within the context of the thread, remains that the proposed fights look quite good but its not enough for PPV.

People were arguing whether Khan vs Brook was big enough and whether they'd do a big venue etc. I can't believe this is what we get instead, it's better than Clev vs Bellew due to the other fights but it's still not PPV fare. The only thing we can do is vote with out feet and not buy it, i didn't buy Clev vs Bellew as I'm not going to support crap PPVs and I'm not skint or anything, I just think it's a total joke when I already pay over £100 a month for my TV/Broadband package.

This seems to sum up the general feeling, from the British boxing fans on forums and social media, about this card being PPV.

How long will it be before every boxing show on SKY is PPV? I mean, seriously. Sky sports boxing will just become a promotional tool to hype up and sell that weeeknd's (insert sarcasm) huggggggeeee stacked unmissable PPV card (which will also be previewed in Murdoch owned Sun's Hearn column as unmissable etc.

Surely, every Brook fight now then will be PPV as long as he has that title?

Matchroom are living in a dream world but they will make it out all right, it'll be the next generation that has to pick up the pieces once this mess is over with.

Last nights card was extremely poor for a Saturday night. I'd class myself as a massive fan but I couldn't even be bothered with the Leeds card last night. I just watched the Warrington fight live and will probs delete the rest of the recording.

Good idea. Find a pub with it on and spend the money on beer - better than giving it to Sky :-)

No. Not at all. I have followed brook for years though. I just refuse to pay extra anymore. I have had enough.

I had the same thought and got two of the cheapest tickets yesterday, there are loads left.

I doubt Brook - or any of the boxers - have played any part in the decision to make this a PPV. The decision will have been made by Sky & Matchroom, simple as that.

I actually don't think it's a bad card & may have caved in to buying it in the past, but I'm refusing out of principle after the Cleverly vs Bellew farce; boxing fans need to send a strong message that we won't put up with getting regularly ripped off. There's absolutely no reason why this card should have been 'stacked' the way it has been, should have been spread over a few months to replace the dross Matchroom are intending to dish out on normal Sky Sports.

Besides, regardless of all that, if I buy 2 boxing PPVs in 1 month & my missus sees the bill, she'll probably kick me out of the house, and I wouldn't blame her!

I worry that the PPV situation will just get worse and eventually allegedly station will get in on the act.

The model for the UK is always the States; and anything half decent is PPV. And they're $70 or something
