you must be reading Il Duce posts that another poster had quoted.
Looks like 95 percent of his posts that were on here have been deleted.

I had a theory about how he may have been so (allegedly)knowledgable about so many things
I think Il Duce may have lived in Brooklyn New York City
and visited the Public Libiary at least once a week there to look at Hank Kaplins massive Boxing archives
that were donated there after he died.

sometime a few years ago some posters here also accused him of being another "notorius" poster earlier on that went by the name "granberry"
who claimed to have worked with Jimmy Young if I remember correctly.
the most recent type of a poster like that was named "Kalan"
and he too was banned of course.

I did a quick search over at boxing24 forum and found 142 of his posts still intact.

A good liar is one who blends just enough fact in with the lie to make it believable. That was Il Duce. Make no mistake the vast majority of what he wrote was complete and utter bullshit that he made up to fill in the blanks of his knowledge or to further his bizarre agendas.

hey, 1975 that's when I started following boxing too.
(just around the time of the Ali vrs Wepner fight)
Remember when the Public Library had "Ring" magazine in the magazine section in one of those clear thick plastic binders
with the rest of the magazines ?.

BTW El Duce had listed here some other of Sonny Liston's sparring partners not previously mentioned,
(including a large "enforcer' forward pro Basketball player at least one sparring session whose name I can't recall, but who played against Wilt Chamberlain and later gave Kareem Abdul Jabbar some problems on the court )
but his posts were deleted and not quoted so that info is lost I guess.

I do remember looking up that particular basketball players name
( I think it may have been Gus Johnson 6ft 6")
and it certainly sounded plausible to me.
I think the sparring session happened in 1969.

Well, Il Duce (at that time writing under the name Bill Paxtom) wrote a highly detailed and credible mini-bio of Mike Quarry on SaddoBoxing. This mini-bio described the inside details of all Quarry's fights from 1972 onward.

I started following boxing as a kid in 1975, and Mike Quarry was one of my favorite boxers. Over the next three years, I followed Quarry's career as closely as possible, relying on all the boxing magazines and whatever newspaper reports I could find.

Il Duce/Paxtom's description of Quarry's career dovetails with everything I remember reading about Mike during the 1975-1978 period. Thus, IMO - on the subject of Mike Quarry, at least - Il Duce/Paxtom wrote based on what he learned from exhausting, obsessive research, and that he wasn't lying.

As Klompton says most of what he wrote was utter B.S, mixed in with a few truths. The problem for El Douche is, who is ever going to take anything he says or writes seriously again. ? You wouldn't would you? Utterly peculiar individual.

hey, maybe you should state what utter 'Un-truths" and boxing history 'lies" Il Duce did here
and the back-up and prove what is not true.
and maybe the rest of us can figure out what he said was "Fact or Fiction"
or is that alone for you guys to determine for the rest of us ?.

Maybe you can do that research yourself. Who in the hell has that amount of time. I dont. Good luck.

Tuan_Jim wrote: 30 May 2015, 16:08 Ill Dunce is indeed continuing his career as a writer of fantasy at Saddo Boxing. He is currently penning a long long 'history' of Mike Quarry.

Has he found a more appreciative audience? The lone response to his Quarry tome was:

"What a f*cking weirdo. Making up history and quotes that nobody gives a sh*t about or reads except you. Awful lonely in here..."
I don't know who this "Il Duce" guy is, but I am quite impressed with his history of Mike Quarry's career. I followed Mike's career in detail as a kid (through the magazines). It looks to me like "Il Duce" has uprooted lots of excellent details about each and every one of Quarry's post 1972 fights. He had to have done a lot of research through newspapers, among other sources, to know all those finer points. He even covers Quarry's obscure club fights in specific detail.

I won't comment as to the rest of "Il Duce's" contributions to these forums, but his Mike Quarry content gets high praise from me.

One thing about "Il Duce" that I do recall: he had a strange writing style. He used quotation marks too much, and unnecessarily. Several years back, I remember several different people (using different names) using that exact same style of writing, and it was obviously the same guy under different names. He was on the ESB forum a lot.

But whatever his faults, again, I've got to give him kudos for that Mike Quarry bio on SaddoBoxing.
So all that obsession about Alan Minter's height was just leading up to this.

How stupid do you think people are?

I mean, this is pathetic. Nobody is confused about who your alter ego was, everyone (except a couple of people who I would like to sell the Eiffel Tower to) know who you and all you previous aliases are. Your attempts to self-aggrandise yourself are ridiculous.

Is this honestly all you have in your life?

Caractacus constantly inventing new aliases to talk about how interesting and mysterious his old banned alias Il Duce was.
