Re: Mayweather to fight Berto Tues. Sep.15 live on CBS

Who compose the fistful of guys that Wlad should fight but hasn't?
It looks like it will be Berto, unless they hit a snag in negotiations. Its a great thing for the fans. Lots of folks can't afford PPV. Berto isn't a popular choice, but I personally like it better than the Khan option. Khan crying like a baby when it is officially announced will be PPV worthy in itself.Cedric wrote:If Mayweather was serious about fighting Mayfield or Berto, than this makes sense. But I don't believe he was.
I would buy the ppv of Khan crying over not getting the fight.Badhusker wrote:It looks like it will be Berto, unless they hit a snag in negotiations. Its a great thing for the fans. You backtracked on the mythical double standard of Rios/Algieri being lauded by fans.koolkc107 wrote:Backtracked from what? I said Wlad has fought nothing but stiffs the last decade.
True.
I said there are a fistful of guys out there he really should fight but isn't.
Also true.
And some of them he should have got to a long time ago.
He is fighting Tyson Fury next.
Tyson Fury.
Tyson "I nearly got KTFO by a cruiserweight and had to foul said cruiser with my forearms to get a KO" Fury.
So spare me on the "how great Wlad is" nonsense.
There is a double standard. Too many of the same folks who are fine with Wladimir's antics and Pac's farces are rushing to yell foul about this fight.
A fight involving an opponent who, in spite of all his faults, is actually a more credible opponent than half the guys Wlad and Pac have faced their last 4 or 5 fights...and Floyd is doing it FREE!
That is the hypocrisy I speak of.

Now who are the fistful Wlad should fight but isn't? What contenders has he missed or dodged?
Sounds like you lost some money on Fury/CunninghamTyson Fury is a much better defense of a title than Andre "I just got stopped by Soto Karass" Berto.
Time to move on brut, your act is old and stale.

My original statement was that most of Pac's fanboys were fine with him fighting Rios and Algieri.
I stand by that.
But I do allow that there were some here who like boxing first who were as outraged as they should have been.
Berto just beat Josecito Lopez. That is as legit as anything Fury has ever done and he didn't have to foul to get his KO like Fury did Cunningham.
And name one clear cut, none controversial win by Rios or Algieri that is better than said KO by Berto. I'll wait.
As to Wlad, I am not even going to bother. If you follow the sport like you say you do then you can name the 4 or 5 easily.
If it's so easy, name them then.koolkc107 wrote:punchoutsb wrote:You backtracked on the mythical double standard of Rios/Algieri being lauded by fans.koolkc107 wrote:Backtracked from what? I said Wlad has fought nothing but stiffs the last decade.

I'm just always happy to have a free fight!!hurricanemitch14 wrote:If this is for real then I'm ok with it. Floyd fighting a dude like Berto on CBS on a Tuesday as a farewell fight for his fans.
If this was a Showtime or PPV I'd be pissed.
There's no way to make a Khan,Thurman fight and afford to put it on CBS on a Tuesday. Floyd is a douche but he's earned a gimme as a farewell at the age of 38.
No worse than when Pac fought Algieri.Impractical Poster wrote:KBB, what do you think about this match-up? Other than it being free.
What's your prediction?KBB wrote:No worse than when Pac fought Algieri.Impractical Poster wrote:KBB, what do you think about this match-up? Other than it being free.
Given the circumstances, it's quite a bit worse. Berto stands no chance at all and recently got smoked by Karass and Guerrero. At least Chris was undefeated when Manny faced him. This is possibly Floyd's last bout. And he claims he is the best ever. Piss poor move. It's hard to believe even his loyalest supporters supporting this.KBB wrote:No worse than when Pac fought Algieri.Impractical Poster wrote:KBB, what do you think about this match-up? Quite a bit worse? Imagine the backlash Floyd would have got if he fought Rios and Algieri. Neither are even true 147 pounders. Algieri was unbeaten, yes, but only had 20 fights total in his lifetime.Impractical Poster wrote:Given the circumstances, it's quite a bit worse. Since I don't know how to post pictures or GIF's I will give a link that has a pretty funny one about Khan. Scroll down to the 3rd comment. Man I might even spring for a dvd copy so I can play it over and over
Dude please keep my name out of your mouth, I've told you time and time again that I have 1 other account that I used to use. The problem with idiotic retards such as yourself is a very low level of reading comprehension.punchoutsb wrote:koolkc107 wrote:I did no such thing.

Talk about going out with a whimper. Time for you to make yet another fake account I guess.
While we're waiting on him/you/whatever to provide the "fistful of guys" Wlad's avoided, you can provide a list of posts of mine that would equate to me hating Floyd, or ANY similarities to me and bnov. But just like him/you/whatever you won't be able to either because it doesn't exist.KBB wrote:Dude please keep my name out of your mouth, I've told you time and time again that I have 1 other account that I used to use. Kool and I are two different individuals who just so happens to not buy into your I Hate Floyd campaign and because we agree your dumb ass think we are one in the same of which we're not.
I could just as well label you Bnovelist because you act and post the same garbage he does.
Point taken. Take out the word impressive. The point is that I am not trying to hype Berto as a top opponent. Read the rest of what I had to say.crusader wrote:His two impressive wins since the loss to Karass? Chambers isn't even in BoxRec's top 220, hadn't fought in over a year, and in that fight was stopped in four rounds by Eddie Gomez. Quiet a stretch to call Berto's win over him impressive.
As for Lopez, he's lost to every top 10 fighter he's faced barring Ortiz, and shortly before facing Berto he was dropped by faded Mike Arnaoutis and generally had quite a tough time. Considering Berto is 3-3 in his last 6, has only 2 wins in the last 4 years, and was stopped 3 fights ago by Karass, I don't think wins over Chambers and Lopez should put him near a Mayweather fight, regardless of who Pacquiao fought.
