Buttigeig always seems to land on the right side of S/D, nothing worse than a fighter being robbed of a well earnt win
Yup! Mandatory is 8 daysLike a Boss wrote:Can you elaborate on why the suspensions were imposed? Were they enforced recovery periods?AntonS wrote:Hatley's suspensions, albeit he won - indicating he's contested some hard fights
1 x 37 days
2 x 31
4 x 25
1 x 19
1 x 16
1 x 14
KOs are an automatic month in most parts are they not?AntonS wrote:1 x 37 days - Mario Alberto Lozano
2 x 31 - Richard Gutierrez , Lanardo Tyner (lost to him TKO 1)
Very one sided was probably over after the 2nd round but Mundine showed heart to survive as long as he did. Whether the dodgy hip, tendonitis etc excuses were real or not who knows. Mundine has in the past said his fight preparation has been bad(usually in the media to get more people to watch hoping to see him lose IMO). So who knows if he was fairdinkum or just pre rehearsed excuses to explain why he lost or to make it seem moreLike a Boss wrote:What did you think of the main event?DA GOOSE wrote:No Columban was robbed IMO.Pureist wrote:What happened with that fight convict? I said yesterday Mundine was not looking or sounding particularly confident going into the fight and was already offering up pre-fight excuses.
I was almost certain I was looking at a guy in that pre-fight interview who thought he was going to lose. Mundine thrives on his own enthusiasm and in that interview he couldn't even pretend to be confident. I think he is gone and he knows it.DA GOOSE wrote:Very one sided was probably over after the 2nd round but Mundine showed heart to survive as long as he did. courageous if he had of won.
31 days Lanardo Tyner (lost to him TKO 1 - 7 mths inactivity going into the fight)Like a Boss wrote:KOs are an automatic month in most parts are they not?AntonS wrote:1 x 37 days - Mario Alberto Lozano

Still it is a surprising list of suspensions.
What are all the others for?
He actually beat Richard Gutierrez. But got 37 days? I notice Gutierrez did knock him down early in the fight.
Not that he will likely want to fight again any time soon, but will Mundine get a suspension in order to recover from the fight last night? Hatley punched the living suitcase out of him.AntonS wrote:31 days Lanardo Tyner (lost to him TKO 1 - 7 mths inactivity going into the fight)Like a Boss wrote:KOs are an automatic month in most parts are they not?AntonS wrote:1 x 37 days - Mario Alberto Lozano

25 days are unknown. Possibly cuts, but I didn't notice any facial marks
It matters not what we think or say, Mundine and Green will almost certainly fight again.amwsnw wrote:I really enjoyed the card.No massive names on the undercard just some really competitive fights.
For what its worth I had Buttigeig winning 77 75.
To choc, great heart mate. Just to be standing on your feet at the end you deserve all the credit in the world. Looked nothing like the fighter who not that long ago beat Ranchenko.
I know a fight with Green makes sense financially but I dont want to see it (I dare say its a done deal). Mundine has nothing to prove. If the first fight with Green was close i could understand it but I see no purpose. Hang up the gloves Anthony on what has been a fantastic career. That said, at 80kg and if he's fit he would probably start favorite against Danny regardless on last nights result.
Good luck to Hatley moving forward. This victory probably puts him in a decent fight next time around.
If it happens, I doubt I'd be prepared to part with 50 bucks to see it. Mind you, given my popularity in this forum, I might not live long enough to reconsider ;;-)Like a Boss wrote:It matters not what we think or say, Mundine and Green will almost certainly fight again.amwsnw wrote:I really enjoyed the card.No massive names on the undercard just some really competitive fights.

It would be a multi-million dollar fight for sure. But $10m is stretching the imagination.AntonS wrote:I gather Brian hadn't recovered from post show party when he made that statement.

They don't call it the lucky country for nothing and Mundine and Green about to get real lucky. Despite all the 'experts' who claimed it would never happenDA GOOSE wrote:$10 million for 2 past prime 40+ year olds!!!!!! Only in Australia
