Mundine would only have to put on half a pound a week and anybody could do that. Weight isn't a huge hurdle. Just a convenient excuse for people to cling to

Isn't that the same excuse Greeny uses for losing in 2006? Starving dehydrated ghost

. I don't think the fight will happen don't think Mundine can move up at 40.
We all put on weight as we age. It is the natural progression. That's why most fighters creep up weight divisions. Not go down.
What is unnatural is losing weight like Mundine did to force his way down two weight divisions. He will only have to stop dieting the way he has and most of the weight he has lost will return very quickly.

Of course he can put the weight on. But big difference putting weight on to play marbles than it is to fight.

so now green is a drug cheat huh?
the same people pretending to be unaware of things green has done have posted numerous times about the exact same things themselves.
maybe they have forgotten dozens of times, pmsl.

It would also explain
Greens verbal abuse of hospital staff where the police had to be called ''roid rage''. Though he may be off roids now.

I think this fight happens and many others seem to as well.
Mundine would only have to put on half a pound a week over a period of months and anybody could do that. Add some protein and carbs to the diet and pump some weights and half a pound a week is a soda even for a non-athlete.
As soon as Mundine loses at junior middle lookout because the green light on this fight will start glowing almost immediately.
Perhaps it is time for a poll on this fight happening?

I know it easy to put on that weight but it's not as easy to fight at that weight. To fight a strong, puncher like Green without having a fight at that weight is crazy. He was fighting at super middle last time they clashed, so to go from junior middle to light heavy is madness.

Who is saying he can't have a fight or two along the way?
Assuming he drops a fight at junior middleweight that triggers the decision to fight Green, Mundine could have his next fight at middleweight having already increased a bit in size and that transition to middleweight will be easy because his body naturally wants to be bigger than junior middleweight anyway.
Then as he increases in size his next bout could be at super middleweight and last before meeting Green could be at light heavyweight.
It is achievable and would only involve putting on something like half a pound a week for a period of months.
You already said you think it will probably happen and the above is probably more or less how it could happen.

I don't think there is that much left in either of their careers to have these warm up fights. Mundine is 40 and Green is 40 something. Whatever happens when they do fight the loser will use the weight excuse. I just think it's crazy for Mundine to fight up at that weight but I do know it's quite easy to put weight on.

We both agree it will probably happen and if it does they will find a way. Probably no point us thrashing it around any more

Agreed.

I just think that Mundine is crazy as fighting at 69.85kgs is a big difference from fighting a big strong light heavyweight.

Won't happen IMO. Mundine won't give the sore loser another payday. I mean look at his ridiculous attempt to look tough at the weigh in where he said ''weights beautiful''.

At the haircut and army jacket.

Power will be the biggest issue for Mundine. He dominated Green first time around but never looked like knocking him out. He is unlikely to be even that strong second time around so he will need to ensure he has enough power to keep Green away or he will eventually get caught and stopped by the bigger, stronger man.

I like the sound of that last bit. Green by brutal KO ends mundines career and then retires himself for good and let new up and commers have a crack
