We all put on weight as we age. It is the natural progression. That's why most fighters creep up weight divisions. Not go down.

What is unnatural is losing weight like Mundine did to force his way down two weight divisions. He will only have to stop dieting the way he has and most of the weight he has lost will return very quickly.

Of course he can put the weight on. But big difference putting weight on to play marbles than it is to fight.

I think this fight happens and many others seem to as well.

Mundine would only have to put on half a pound a week over a period of months and anybody could do that. Add some protein and carbs to the diet and pump some weights and half a pound a week is a soda even for a non-athlete.

As soon as Mundine loses at junior middle lookout because the green light on this fight will start glowing almost immediately.

Perhaps it is time for a poll on this fight happening?

I don't think there is that much left in either of their careers to have these warm up fights. Mundine is 40 and Green is 40 something. Whatever happens when they do fight the loser will use the weight excuse. I just think it's crazy for Mundine to fight up at that weight but I do know it's quite easy to put weight on.

Power will be the biggest issue for Mundine. He dominated Green first time around but never looked like knocking him out. He is unlikely to be even that strong second time around so he will need to ensure he has enough power to keep Green away or he will eventually get caught and stopped by the bigger, stronger man.
