I think so. I think this might be Wlad's last fight (or at least last significant fight, maybe he'll bow out officially against a smaller draw in Ukraine or something).
I think pulling out now really messes with Fury's camp & mindset, yet Wladimir by postponing on his terms, and with his experience & discipline, can benefit from it.
There's also no such thing as negative PR, postponing the fight and lengthening the build-up will only serve to boost the promotion.

actually you may have a point
we shouldn't downplay the psychological fallout for Wlad, of Fury saying his underpants have more charisma, and the way that could have a knock-on effect on the health of his lower leg.
a textbook case of 'blowback' if everf I saw one

Didn't take him very long to pipe up. Must've heard the news whilst taking a time-out from training for his comeback.

I might still go to Dueesdorf anyway and go and see a German football game.
Thats what me and a few mates are doing.
Paid£80 for flights, Not massive amounts of money (Still not nice to loose it) so going anyway.
Bayern Leverkusen are at home Vs Stuggart - short train ride.

On Sky Sports News' interview I thought Fury seemed very sincere when he said he felt sorry for fans who've lost money on this. Same here. I've been lucky in that respect but doubt I can get to any new date if it's held later this year

For the heavyweight champion of the world.... to walk away from a fight just weeks away.... over something like a sprain... Makes me lose all respect for him. I've defended and upheld Klitschko for quite some time... But this?... When you look at guys like Marciano who fought with his nose hanging on by a thread... Dempsey going hungry for days, sleeping on park benches and still knocking out men two times his size... Etc, etc, etc... Klitschko doesn't deserve to be called an all-time great. He can knock out twenty more bums. For this to of happened... One of his more likelier toughest tests in years, and against a highly controversial and exciting fighter... Is a disgrace to the division, and to the sport itself.
I'm absoloutely gutted for Fury and his family. If it were me, I'd go after Deontay Wilder and the WBC belt. Make Klitschko come to you. Because that's the missing trinket he doesn't have. Give Klitschko that incentive to not bitch out next time. Or, forget Klitschko altogether, and become the more watched and viewed heavyweight by winning the WBC belt and just avoid him. Fight everyone else. Fight Joshua. Fight Whyte. Fight anybody else but him. Klitschko pulled a David Haye on the fans. And I feel sorry for Great Britain---- this is several times now "world class" fighters have completely screwed over the fans. No money back.
Its a good thing I never put a few hundred down on PaddyPower.com on this fight like I was planning on doing.

I'm sure you'd get your money back, unless your bet was 'for the fight to take place on a specific date'?

Any bookmaker will refund bets on cancelled fights, unless perhaps they are rescheduled within 30 days when they stand. You certainly aren't going to lose money because of a cancellation.

I have doubts whether this fight will ever happen. To be honest I do not think there is any injury. Does this guy dance around the ring like SRL? Does he shite. If i was the governing body i would want to see this injury on a scan and be present when the scan was taken. Strip him and give fury his shot with another opponent and make the winner have to defend against Klit. This all too familiar these days, aka Bruno v Tyson. When Bruno got his shot he had been out of the ring for over a year and that does nothing for a challenger, he cant risk any 'warm up' fights incase he loses. It fcukin stinks!
Fury hasnt fought since Feb this year. What we looking at now, December, Jan 16?? Its not fair, but money talks and there are many corrupt officials out there. While I do not think Fury has much chance here he has trained and done his bit so he deserves his shot. Again strip the tosser and let Fury face another guy.
Infact I would love to see Haye step in, Tyson Fury v David 'Big Toe' Haye makes sense as I see fury knocking that wanker out.

And spend the next 20 years trying to make what he would have made in one night. Klitschko you sh*thouse, give a brother a payday. Unless he's done a bicep or a hamstring then I think this is just some sh*thouse trick. Probably 80% of Ukraine is racist against gypsies probably - but I've no evidence whatsoever.

Fcking horsesh*t Wladimir. Get off that little pedestal of yours. At least the genuine heavyweights from the Golden Era actually fought and weren't souped up to the eyeballs on creatine and vitamins and "whatever else".

Not sure what to make of this really, I have to say I have never been one for doubting boxers willy nilly but something just seems wrong about this, he looked somewhat strange to me at the press conference, nothing I could put my finger on but perhaps as if he had not been well or to be blunt just like an average 40 year old facially. I always think Wlad has looked the picture of health before fights but to me he did not, Billy Hindsight is a great gift but I watched the conference again this morning before the announcement and still thought he looked a bit washed out.
If indeed there is a calf injury, those of us that have had them know that sometimes they respond without any problems but other times they are not really the same for a good while afterwards, as another poster said I would not be surprised if this is on and off again and then perhaps a belt or two given away so Fury gets a fight against someone else and perhaps Wlad gets one last fight to say goodbye (enter left stage Shannon Briggs)

Every boxer suffers an injury at sometime (Klitschko has a lot of miles on the clock) & has had to pull out of a fight. Klitschko has enough money & now it's about legacy & fighting while injured could cause his first loss in a long while hence postponing for a few week!
Personally see no conspiracy theory here.

Gutted.
Think we're gonna go out anyway as can't get money back, and go to a game...Leverkusen at home that day and up the road.
If very quick when new date is announced then will try and get cheap flight/hotel for the rescheduled date, otherwise will get a refund on the tickets.

He knows about his body and he knows how to train. Unless it's a cut in training - and something tells me that's very unlikely, then it just sounds like "we'll show this Batman upstart who's running the show here'. I'm disappointed with Klitschko. I thought he conducted himself like a class act from start to finish when dismantling the London mouth-piece. I really hope that if this is true, that it's a genuine reason - and one that he can hopefully verify.

I am willing to believe Wlad but was never sold on Haye's behaviour....either way, Peter Fury has got one hell of a job on his hands to keep Tyson sane, focussed and ready to hit the re-set button if it is only a 6-8 week delay. Good look with that Peter!

I just wonder if after seeing how fired up fury was klitschko decided to do this to take the wind out of his sales a bit.
The klits come across as the gents of boxing but they do a lot of things to unsettle their opponents. Hayes ring walk through their fans, making chisora re wrap his hands for example.
