I listened to Bunce on Talksport a couple of weeks ago. With a couple of seemingly non-boxing fan presenters he was certainly in his element. When asked who was the last undisputed heavyweight world champion was he said it was Muhammad Ali but then changed it to Leon Spinks. Can you work out his strange way of thinking? I think I can, which if so he cocked up anyway.

Yup, Tyson was undisputed. I guess Bunce puts a lot of stock in Francesco Damiani beating Johnny DuPlooy for the WBO title in 1989 (even though Tyson was the only champ when the WBO came along.)

To carry on my nitpicking Bunce also said ex-heavyweight champion Tommy Burns was 5 ft 6in. I don't think I've ever seen Burns listed as anything other than 5 ft 7.

As an aside, Damiani was actually a good fighter... He just loved pasta and la dolce vita too much.. And I don't blame him

Top quality IMO and he knows the sport very very well Iv seen him years ago at York hall watching the Jnr aba semi finals. So he's not just there for the camera he loves the sport from bottom to top.

Buncey has been great for British boxing. Podcasts and shows when Sky turned their backs on the sport, calls it as he sees it - imagine a weekly podcast with Adam Smith in your ear instead?

Bang on. No one else had any claim to the title before that date. Tyson beat all alphabet champions plus Spinks who had a lineal claim.

Bunce loves boxing first and foremost. How many of the established boxing journalists can you say that about? I doubt any.

Add that to the fact the is an absolute gentleman.

As easy as it is to poke fun at Bunce, and I have done within this thread, he is a true boxing man and for that I applaud him.
He clearly lives and breathes the sport and that is demonstrated within his enthusiasm.
There are a few things that irritate me about him but I guess he's that kind of character.
But I don't dislike the guy, I watch him on BN and listen to his podcast and think he and Barry Jones are a good combination.

I think Buncey has done a great job over the years.
He's the glue that holds it all together.

Sitting in front of a camera at 3am every Saturday having to ad lib for 30 minutes til the next fight comes out is a lot harder than he makes it look.

Agree he loves the sport, he really does. But I lost a bit of respect for him the way he acted on twitter when he ripped into Ben jacobs on twitter over nothing. Really poor form.

It was a tad harsh but f**k it, grow some balls and suck it up.

I think Barry Jones, Bunce, Steve Lillis, Nick Halling are all gold. Ditto the other BN pundits such as Gary Lockett, Tris Dixon, Richie Woodall. Bunce brings buckets of humour to a show in a studio at daft o'clock in the morning, and always seems to bounce of his co-presenters. Plus he's massively enthusiastic and in general talks a lot of sense. Bunce does what I like, which is offer an opinion as opposed to either offering no opinion, or alternatively trotting out some pre briefed party line.
