I really hope he can because he's a very good fighter in a very good division,i know his workrate dipped again against Lee but he didnt look gassed,im hoping it was a mental thing after the critisisms of past fights especially the Eubank Jr fight and next time it wont be an issue

Saunders got the style to give Cotto nightmares but if im honest right now i would expect Miguel to catch up with him if they ever fought but if BJS puts in a busy performance next fight then i might change my mind
He didn't look gassed but Lee never made him work...I can't imagine Saunders even being able to expend the kind of energy that Murray did whilst retreating for 11 rounds, and Saunders carries nowhere near enough power to keep Golovkin off him.

Can you provide a feasible scenario where Saunders wins? I just can't see how.
Good point about Lee not making Saunders work thats def true,Andy was dissapointing for a 3rd of the fight, getting back to Cotto,i always think to how Trout beat him with ease and that was a few years ago,i know Cotto has has a resurgance with Roach but all the opponents he fought were tailor made for Miguel, even Alvarez who was just too big plus strong and young

Saunders isnt as awkward or rangy as Trout but he is a southpaw and he is hard to pin down,BJS has shown a great chin so far on the rare times its been tested, ive mentioned in BJS threads before im a big fan of him and have had him winning comfortably even in his closer fights,he's got more experience going into world class than any other fighter in the UK,i dont think theirs any other champ in the country who's ready to reign a long time,he hasnt been squeezed into a title shot,he's done plenty of 12 rounders with the best fighters at the level he's fought at

Lee,Eubank Jr,O'Sullivan,Ryder,Fletcher,Blackwell all great wins, the worst thing that can happen to BJS now is that Wazza will roll out the WBO no15 time and again and Saunders opponents go down to European(at best) level

Again as i says the engine/workrate issue needs to be adressed or the Cotto's of this world will beat him, maybe BJS needs to bring in Lenny Daws or Chris Edwards coz they guys do have elite engines

I don't disagree with any of that, and I certainly don't dislike Saunders - I'd say skillwise he's one of the best we have. In fact I picked him to absolutely school Eubank Jr, which he did for 6 or 7 rounds then faded badly, as he's done so many times before.

I really hope Saunders takes the Golovkin fight - even if he got ko'd in 1 round I'd think no less of him. But I just can't see any scenario where he beats GGG.

Edit: Just realised I didn't actually address Cotto - well I think Cotto beats Saunders as well. Not as quickly as Golovkin, but picks him apart & stops him late.

Fair enough. Although it may still be an idea to delay posting your January P4P list until the 2nd, just to make sure it's not too tainted by the effects of alcohol? :TU:

How much does Saunders have to fear from losing to Golovkin?

Martin Murray fought for another world title 9 months to the day after losing to Golovkin.

Is a loss to Golovkin necessarily a major setback for Saunders?

I forgot that I am meant to be posting that in about an hour.

I'd better have a good look at it now.

Another thing I like about GGG is that he likes to fight more frequently than most so Saunders needs to get a move on if he wants the fight.

BJS is a savvy boxer with a lot of natural ability and is a good counter puncher. He does not have the power to hurt GGG, he doesn't have the foot movement to avoid him and doesn't have the stamina or engine to outwork him.

If they fight, it'll be a massacre. Barring a freak injury. there is no way in the world does Saunders has any chance what-so-ever of winning this fight.

I heard somewhere AJ got around 3mill for his December 12th PPV, if that figure is correct (which it may be way out) is it that hard to believe BJS could get more on US PPV in a World Title Unification fight?

I don't believe the Joshua figure is anywhere near accurate, and my understanding from Twitter & CS (which admittedly could also be wrong) is that Golovkin's first PPV against Lemieux did quite poorly, so yes I would be surprised that Saunders could earn an almost unprecedented amount for that fight.

If Borat is anything to go by, I am guessing its sisters. One hour for pound.

If the sisters are decent, I would definitely take the 6 mil hours :TU:

Hearn offered Frampton 1.5mill flat for the Quigg fight which he turned down.
I wonder how much a poor selling US PPV still makes?
Maybe its US6mill or maybe thats the figure hes angling for.
Pretty sure he said in his post fight presser he was looking at 4mill...

If the Joshua figure is correct then it's a bit of an anomaly (heavyweights, gold medal, etc), Groves got less than that for the second Froch fight.

Golovkin reportedly got $2M dollars for his last fight and Saunders is the 'B-Side'.

I wonder if 6 million is is the price Warren/Saunders have named to make the fight happen.

Yes, but Joshua was the Froch of that PPV. He was the main man.

Groves got 6 or 7 million for Froch 2 didn't he?

Exactly and, like I said, Saunders isn't the main man vs Golovkin. The Aj figure doesn't really have a baring on what BJS might get, world title or not.

If correct, it's an anomaly for a British title fight because of the public in the interest in Joshua.

Sounds to me like they intend to price themselves out of it.

He's never going to get anything like that, GGG isn't a big star yet, he's slowly getting there, but he's not a big PPV seller yet.

I'd be surprised if the fight paid 6 million dollars for the entire purse.

Joshua has mass appeal and was on a high percentage of the PPV revenue.

If Fwank is asking for £6,000,000, then he doesn't want BJS to fight GGG. In fairness, if I was FW, I wouldn't let BJS anywhere near Golovkin.

George got £2.5m

Froch £8.5m

Imo there's no way in the world AJ got £3m for the Whyte fight
