Wilder is raw. He telegraphs his punches. His footwork is awkward. But, he is like waiting during the thriller Anaconda for the strike. Then, he showed true class after the fight. Showed sincere concern for Szpilka. He spoke eloquently. Then he verbally slapped the sh!t outta Fury. It was a thing of beauty.

Wilder showed me a lot tonight.

Judges had it pretty accurate....
I disagree. Only two rounds to AS is harsh IMO.

Spectacular KO from a bona fide puncher, but overall not an impressive showing. I think Jennings performed better against AS.
77-75 and 78-74 X2 didn't seem bad to me. I didn't keep a RBR score, but it seemed in that area. Farhood had it 78-75 Wilder.

And Farhood having that score means it's accurate? I've seen dross from commentators who are clearly biased.

Disagree. Szpilka was in it to the last punch and it was very even.

I agree that Szpilka was "in it" and competitive, but I agree with the judges that he wasn't actually winning many of the rounds.

I really think some of you have no idea how to score a round properly. It's the only explanation for why anyone had Spilzka even or ahead in this fight.

Most people on here doing r by rs had it even or very close. I put more legitimacy on that than "official judges" or commentators.

Szpilka acquitted himself well. I hope that he is OK.

Both have serious problems to overcome though, Klitschko and Povetkin.

After the war Wilder needed to take care of Szpilka, win over Povetkin looks as remote as ever.
If he connects, Povetkin will go to sleep too.

And his chin might not even be as good as Spilzka's

Of course you want to move on.

Manning up and admitting you are clueless is what men do so that rules you out.

Wilder was doing precious little to separate himself from Szpilka up to the punch.

If Wilder lands hard on Povetkin he'll be as horizontal as Artur was tonight.

Fun fight, fvcking awesome KO and the judges had it right, Wilder was winning this fight.
Wilder is still raw and will never be coordinated but that right hand is real and he carries the power into the late rounds.

Fury easily won the post-fight argument with Wilder!

Deontay looked like he was afraid of a man his own size and backed away.

Wilder's "class" has come about quickly after the lack of it ina relatively recent bout (can t remember who against but even the allegedly lot were saying it was an awful time to celebrate). Something makes me think someone told him to tone stuff down.

Eloquently? I thought his sentences were garbled nonsense...

I sat ringside for this one. Wilders punches were loud when he landed. Szpilka seemed to not land cleanly often and they seemed like arm punches. Not sure how this came across on TV. Might be part of the reason for disparity.

Would Duhaupas and Stiverne be as horizontal?

Would AP be horizontal against Jennings or Mollo?

WTF is wrong with mofos eyes!

Wilder was so far up in Tysons face he could have chewed his gum for him!

And it was Fury that backed up.

Wilder won that easily. I think Tyson is honestly fearful.

Great hype for the future meet if both men can hold up their ends.

Possibly. That was a GREAT shot. But, Povetkin has a much better chin than Artur, and is much much more skilled. Artur's head movement is something Povetkin doesn't have though.
Boxing Prospect wrote:Eloquently? I thought his sentences were garbled nonsense...
Cut him some slack, he'd just finished a tough match and was probably a little confused when he saw Fury in the ring. That's the first time he's ever been in the same ring with a B+ fighter and he probably got a little nervous :OhYes:

Fair enough. Wilder landed very few and far between and went too many stretches of doing almost zero. But, I was not ringside listening to punches.
